This site is the poorest designed site ever. You fill out the Ad, no warnings or messages of a blank field not allowed and submit the ad, no message, no way to pay, no rejection only no ad appears. A day or so later it disappears. So I opened a ticket on the issue and received this message:
Your ad is not setup correctly. You need to fix it. Make sure all fields are correctly filled out, including the bird name. Let us know when done
Best regards,

Then when I went back to see if I could figure out how to read an idiots mind the ad had been totally deleted so now I have to start over. Guess the idiot is the person that continues to try and please these idiots
I contacted this presumed seller: https://www.birdsnow.com/bird-ad-******
1. The guy told me his name which is different from the name on the bank account which I asked him to provide for Wire Transfer.
2. Poor English grammar.
3. When I asked him to provide the vet's name it took him awhile to return and say: Mr. Scott but don't worry my parrot is very healthy. Bla bla.
4. Also, the picture posted here is from a file's name "cute-bird-for-sale-in-edmonton-ab.jpg" which means the bird is in Edmonton, Canada, nor Colorado!
I realized it was a scam right away. Just want to let other people know.
Check their cell number here: https://www.freecarrierlookup.com/ If it's a voice-over IP or not a major carrier more likely it's a scam.
Remember to pick up birds in person ONLY.
It's been almost two years since I got my adorable greencheek from this website. She was handfed and we bonded almost instantly.
However, I do understand that this site is not heavily regulated and is probably full of scammers. Please meet up with the person you are buying from and see the bird before purchasing! Also, pay in person!
For two weeks they have played games with me! Trying to list 3 baby Lilac Crown Parrots for sale. They lied to me and said I had an Ad Keep sending me my questions back with no info. No one can find my supposed Bird Ad. I can't. This is not a false review. This is my current experience. I dealt with them before and they were professional and we got results. I am confused about thier service to me. If you are fortunate enough to have them place an Ad for you it was a great site.
It's as if they are showing cruelty about my innocent, sincere request to list my baby Lilac Amazon's for sale.
If interested I am kjbrandt*****@gmail.com. Birds born 6/5/20 and next few days. Hand-fed. Smart, starting to talk.
I can not believe the low ratings of birds now. Com. I have always done well finding buyers for my bird business. Let me tell you if I did not have this sight to list my birds on I think my business would not have survived. Love this sight. My business is Playful Spirits Parakeets.
We are forced to rehome several of our birds because we are moving out of the country and are unable to take them with us. Placing a photo ad on BirdsNow received immediate response from folks who really care about birds.
I went on this site intending to find an African grey parrot and found nothing but scam artists flooding my phone and my emails. My recommendation is avoid this site completely and only adopt in person.
This site is effective for selling birds. Sellers have the right to block buyers who ask a lot of questions and never buy. They're annoying and life is too short. It is always the buyers responsibility to take the bird to the vet not the seller. Most of the birds are well and buyers can see if there's illness by sight from fluff and diarrhea. Expecting sellers to do dna tests on birds are stupid. Buyers asking PetSmart to do dna tests are stupid and should spend their own money on that kind of bull$#*!
I was attempting to buy a cockatiel named Lucas but he was already sold. So, I kept looking and found another one that I liked and it was better priced. I'm very pleased with my purchase and the vendor.
Answer: Buyers beware! DO NOT buy birds from out is state. You are going to get ripped of. If the prices are too cheap and they sound too good to be true, they probably are. This is an organized crime. Some don't even have a bird for sale. They keep asking you for your email so they can send you pictures and more information as they claim. What they are actually trying to do is identity theft by opening their attachment. Quite often the state they claim to be in does not match their area code. Instead of buying cheap birds out of state just pay a little more and buy them from the local breeders in your own state. Do not fall for $500 Hycinth macaws or Toco Tucans in other websites like pets. Oodle. They are mostly scammers.
Answer: Pay through a site like PayPal. PayPal allows you to make a paper trail and makes the buyer commit before you send anything or they send anything. PayPal also will create an invoice. If there is an issue or fraud, it can be submitted to PayPal as an unpaid item dispute or to your bank as proof for a reimbursement.
