As a photographer and photojournalist I have spent thirty-five years following light and truth through my camera lens while constructing narratives. Each print from my collection carries a fragment of my heart so I entered online sales with optimism and determination. Friends recommended YouPic because they described it as a platform that provided photographers a space to exhibit their artwork for potential sales. I signed up to YouPic after spending $50 on a premium membership while hoping the platform would serve as a launchpad for my photography passion. The digital platform I chose turned out to be a digital trap between YouPic and Cash App who probably worked together to steal my money as well as my trust and time. The betrayal started when I used YouPic. Their website presented itself through a visually appealing front which included easy upload functions and worldwide exposure features along with monetization tools for photographers. But the reality? A glitchy interface that froze my uploads, analytics that never loaded, and a dashboard so broken it felt like a cruel prank. I tried contacting support first through email before posting on X and Instagram to seek assistance. Silence. Weeks turned into months while I waited for any type of response from the platform but none arrived. I found myself among others who experienced this same form of ghosting. Trustpilot reviews describe YouPic as a digital black hole where a user lost $60 to a subscription service yet the company simply vanished after taking payment. A user on Reddit's photography community described YouPic as "a scam dressed in a pretty UI" because the platform offered no assistance and its features did not work. A 2023 thread on X displayed similar warnings from photographers who stated "YouPic takes your money and disappears." YouPic operates from Sweden while existing outside the reach of U.S. consumer protection laws because it uses unclear legal boundaries. They took my $50 payment without providing any useful service which left me frustrated and without any benefit from my account. After feeling deceived by YouPic I turned to Cash App which I had used for the payment expecting to get my money back. I submitted a dispute with detailed proof that included my unsolicited emails and social media posts along with YouPic's complete absence of response. The money involved was important since fifty dollars represents both weekly grocery expenses and gas costs as well as the funds I needed to survive as a freelancer. Cash App's response? A curt denial, no explanation given. The system responded with another automatic rejection after I thoroughly documented my case. My appeal to the faceless system went unanswered as I received a second automated rejection with no human interaction. A digital door shut in front of me when I attempted to speak with a human representative. The process at Cash App seemed like a manipulated system that functioned to reject claims instead of providing support. I'm not alone in this. Various online stories demonstrate that Cash App operates its dispute system with complete disregard for user rights. A 2024 CFPB complaint shows a user lost $200 to a scam but Cash App denied their request for a refund even though they had clear evidence. A CashApp user complained on Reddit's r/CashApp forum that the company treated his money like their own property by providing no help or empathy. Block received a $120 million fine from the CFPB during 2025 because their negligence exposed users to fraud. The news brought me little consolation. The way Cash App refused to respond and their lack of interest in YouPic's scam activities made me believe they were participating in the fraud to collect their share while I suffered the loss. Both companies left me feeling robbed in distinct but devastating ways. YouPic committed an audacious theft through their operations in Sweden where they attracted creative professionals with attractive advertisements before disappearing with financial payments. The Swedish company refused to acknowledge my complaints by maintaining complete silence which they used to dismiss our financial transactions. The institutional nature of Cash App made their robbery seem colder than YouPic's brazen theft. They possessed the capability to review my evidence yet they refused to act by using automated responses instead. They took my $50 which I desperately needed and simultaneously broke my faith in platforms that support independent creators like me. This double betrayal burns because it's personal. My entire earnings come from challenging work because I put my entire heart into every photograph I create. YouPic along with Cash App stole more than my money because they rejected my artistic work and my professional fight and my right to speak. The digital marketplace presents itself as a trap for dreamers who seek to create because I face no options and no refund while learning my lesson. My warning to others? Stay away from YouPic completely and never rely on Cash App to protect you in times of need. Their true nature has revealed itself as thieves who operate in the color of theft. Sources: Customers on Trustpilot have expressed their frustration about YouPic's lack of response through reviews. Users on Reddit communities r/photography and r/CashApp discuss their negative experiences with YouPic and Cash App. X posts from 2023 explain how YouPic operates as a scam. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau received a complaint about Cash App in 2024. Block Inc. received a CFPB order in 2025.
Loads of AI images which photographers are passing off as their own work and fake accounts with images taken off the Internet and the 'photographers' are crediting as their own work.
Loads of pornographic images, some very explicit. Youpic do nothing to delete them even when reported! I've now deleted my account as my timeline is no longer family friendly due to indecent images mixed in with people's genuine photographs.
I cancelled my paying membership and still 2 months later YouPic took 359.88$ from my account. They promise to refund. Its been 4 months now and still nothing. They dont even respond to my messages on the website or my emails anymore!
I signed up for YouPic a while back--don't remember why or when. Started getting messages and emails from YouPic, but never paid much attention. I don't really check that email account very often. Lately, I saw all these messages and decided to try to remember what YouPic was. So I clicked on the link in one of these emails. Had to reset my password because it's been so long.
Then I read these messages from "Lisa" about how they have a client that has spotted one of my images and wants to purchase it, if only I would upgrade to the PRO level of YouPic, which is pricey even after the discount offer. The problem is this: I have never uploaded ANY images to YouPic, so it's just not possible that any client has seen any of my images on this platform. And of course, if they had seen my work on ANY OTHER platform, they could contact me directly, and it wouldn't cost me anything.
YouPic doesn't provide any added value, so I quit them.
I've been with YouPic for a number of years now and recently the site has seriously gone downhill! To the point where I have now deleted my account.
YouPic is now rife with AI images which 'photographers' are passing off as their own work. Spammers who are opening free profiles and bombarding everyone with advertising.
And finally graphic images of both men and women, some crossing the boundary and are outright pornographic!
They have 4 sections. Home, inspiration, hot and newest. Hot used to be quality photographs of landscapes etc. Now 95% are of open legged images of females.
They lied to me twice on Instagram, promising me they would feature my work on their website's home page if i became a member. I joined and was never featured despite following up on these promises multiple times. They just ignored my messages and then the accounts that messaged me eventually disappeared. They lie to people for their own gain. Not a website i want to use or be associated with. Edit: I should add that I began informing other users on their website of their nefarious behaviour so they blocked my account.
Youpic is your perfect platform to present and publish your photos. Register and start posting photos in high quality. You can also put your photos up for sale.
I've used YouPic for a good number of years and initially had very good impressions about it as an alternative to other large sites. In particular it was photography oriented and encouraged constructive comments and discussions more than hearts.
However, support is increasingly hard to find to the extent I wasn't sure if they are staying in business. Selling and visibility is not that great even with the Pro level. They seem to have more or less dropped curation or don't have to staff to support this anymore. Billing is too hidden. I thought I had dropped the Pro level subscription but it is really hard to find your subscription details (impossible on the app? Maybe only accessible on the web site?). Not happy to be hit unexpectedly with $500 CAD charge for very little service!
I'm disappointed to see what looked like a great project degrade into rubbish. Gave two rather than one star because of the good experience years ago.
Great site for posting your photos whether you are a Pro or like me a Hobbyist.
Had an issue, contacted them, they sorted it out.
Lots of categories to post in, and fellow memebers can leave you comments and/or like your contribution.
One of the best mediums available to communicate and share the works of lesser known artists. They share your photos and other artwork with over 40,000 people.
I love what they do...
Excellent services and friendly environment. A lot of interesting material. Professional management and stuff.
Youpic is a good photography website for ideas and pictures. It never got me any business. Signing up for premium service at a discount is good but the following subscription rate is extremely expensive with not notice. Don't fall into the trap.the pro service is not worth 370.00 per year. If you dispute it you will not get your money back. Buyer beware. A free subscription will get you almost the same value.
I like this site. Because, we can upload my photos project, see photos of oder photographs and we can follow, like and send comments.
This site is great.
Very interesting service. Allows you not only to share your creativity, but also to get acquainted with the works of professional photographers. I recommend it!
It is a good platform for both professionals and beginners. Inspiring ideas to learn from and its also easy to use.
I used this platform as a way for sharing my art with other people around the world. Is good for us photographers although there are some non artistic nudes in the last months and this is why I don't give 5 stars. Actually is a nice platform ad the team is doing a nice job
So, I was using this platform for a while. I send a message through Image about forcing me to use premium account. The platform ban my profile, when i log in, my profile is new one. I only had 5 followers so I am not dissapointed. What I am dissapointed is that their business practice. First of all, no information was given why I got banned. No other information was provided. So I send another message: You delete my profile? I no longer wish to use your platform.
Besides that, they are terrible business. Forcing people to go premium instead of using free service.
They are scam that deserve to be cancelled.
I am posting One image that I use on their platform and image that I wrote down for evidence.
DONOT USE THEIR PLATFORM. Do not waste time!
Lisa from YouPic wants to negotiate a price for my photos on my behalf for her clients but needs me to upgrade to a Pro membership. If this is true, then they would more than likely get my work for next to nothing because Lisa needs to please her clients and Lisa would get a Premium membership out of me plus the potential/existing client would have to join or already is a member of YouPic for a fee, so win/win/win for Lisa. With or without a pro membership, I should be allowed to negotiate a price for my work since it will be used commercially and a good potential for me to make probably at least a little more money with understanding how the picture would be used. Overall, I think this is just a ploy to get memberships. I have only been a part of YouPic for five months and the discount offers went from a free month of premium to 50% off per year, then 60% off per year and now 70% off per year. This makes me feel that the membership fee is very subjective and they just need to keep money rolling in. With Flickr, Deviant Art, Facebook, Model Mayhem and Instagram people get ahold of me direct for any use of any of my photos and we negotiate from there. I do not trust YouPic and will not be purchasing a Pro membership, they do not make sense and Lisa the sales rep seems to have a attitude as well, I screen shot in the attached pictures
Answer: When you send a message to YouPic you will not get an answer. Most of the time it's an automatic generatic answer from the robot.
Answer: I wrote to them to ask the same question. Here was their response: "Its an activity fire we have." Not helpful at all!
Answer: Yes, I get many spam messages from Lisa in the website and to my email. They always ask you to upgrade even more and to ask you money.
Answer: Seems to be working fine for me.
