Every movie I click on does not have any content posted, just links to external spam/phishing sites. Very disappointing!
Dailymotion forced me to disable my ad blocker to access the site. I did and there were three long, identical ads before the video began. After the video had played for about three minutes, more of the same long, identical ads played.
I get that they need ads to generate revenue but if they overdo it (which is putting it mildly), it completely ruins the experience for the viewers.
I thought TV ads back in the day were annoying but they were never this invasive.
It claims to show advanced episodes when in fact it would be showing previous ones! It also makes you waste time with the ads (where their money comes from, I assume) and then all the buffering!
Not recommended at all!
What ads?
I'm reading all these reviews about there's too many ads on Dailymotion, has people not heard about using an "ADBLOCK"? I haven't seen any ads in years. I am however aware of how bad the ads are on Dailymotion lol, which is why i said to use an adblock. That's all you have to do.
As for Dailymotion in general, the entire site has changed for the worse over the years. But there's some good points which is why i always come back and stay using this site. I will covered the good and bad.
The Good: Quicker and easier way to get verified badge over YouTube. More easy to navigate and browse the site, doesn't feel sluggish, don't need a phone number to access all features, faster uploading system over YouTube, faster optimizing videos over YouTube. Most Important, the Copyright System is way less strict compared to YouTube, you can upload more content which doesn't get flagged.
The Bad: Comments are gone, recently banners were removed, feature videos is gone, the entire user channel design has changed and it looks awful and too plain looking, no categories section, the new front page looks awful, can't see your subscribers, there's no following videos tab on the front page, no dark mode. I uploaded 3 photos, you can see clearly that the entire website front and user channel is terrible looking.
The Bottom line: Despite all the features being removed from Dailymotion, Overall the experience dealing with Dailymotion is better. If you're seeing ads just use an AdBlock, problem solved. I do hope most of the features come back to Dailymotion and more importantly they need to completely redesign the user channel design, its way too ugly and stupid looking now. Now sure what the staff is thinking. Why would you remove banners from a user channel? I would choose Dailymotion over YouTube for the simple fact that the copyright system is way better and less hassle signing up to the site and uploading speed is faster.
The first time I logged in after setting up an account, I had to watch OVER 20 EFFEN minutes of ads and then to make it worse, once the program started, less than 1 minute of program while over 2 minutes of ads so F ALL OF YOU AND YOUR BS!
Dailymotion website is a absolute mess to use. I mean the layout and UI is terrible. I can't even search for anything, the search function does nothing. The hilarious part is at the bottom of the website that it says designed with in Paris, FR. My $#*! made with love.
Impossible to use: there are advertisement stopping the videos every few minutes. I remember a time when Dailymotion was useful. This time is over.
ITS SO BAD. TOO MANY ADS. 2X15 SECOND ADS WITH N0 SKIP BUTTONS. ME WHO BARELY WATCH 10 SECONDS AND THEN IT POPS UP...AND AT ONE POINT THERE WAS LIKE 6 ADS IN LESS THAN 10 MINS EVEN YOUTUBE HAS BETTER ONE I COULD WATCH A 30+HOUR LONG VID WITH BARELY 2 ADS. AT DAILYMOTION I CANT EVEN WATCH A 20 MIN VID WITHOUT AT LEAST 4 ADS POPPING UP
I was using this app to watch The Young & the Restless. Most of the videos are horrible quality with some annoying background sound running constantly. The View posted decent quality Y & R episodes without the background noise, but now I can't find ANY episodes….only short clips.? What happened? Some times you have to type the date in a different way, which is bizarre, but I've tried every way possible and nothing.
In order to even register you have to set up your birthday by scrolling backwards, month by month, from the current date. Takes forever. No English subtitles Whoever designed the enrollment process is a moron and had no sense of using the site. Worst I've ever seen. Forget it
I used to love this website. But now, just too many ads...too many. Ads showing up while watching the video. Videos don't load right anymore. Just too annoying. No longer good.
Every 10 seconds Ads keep on appearing and it repeats them twice and it is just so annoying. I would never trust Dailymotion. Overall a Scam
I USED to enjoy streaming a few shows I couldn't find anywhere else, like Prisoner Cell Block-H, and the FAME TV series. Until the obnoxious ads began interrupting all play. Right in the middle of a dialogue or a fight scene. Idiot popups ads ruining everything. Then if you attempted to back-track, you got ANOTHER obnoxious popup. It never used to be like this. I could watch a full streaming with 1 15-second ad as a commercial break. It's ridiculous. Then... somehow I got logged out. So I tried logging back in, and suddenly my password is bad, and the reset doesn't work. UGH!
The ads are unpredictable and atrocious. Video ads and those banner ads. Truly unwatchable. I hope this site and all ad hungry sites go belly up. I don't care if I have to go back to 2001 internet.
Ads talking over the movie and no way to stop it. Ads every 5 minutes in addition. The talking over drove me insane, I couldn't even turn them off by lowering the volume. I hope the owner gets run over by a locomotive!
I loved watching Doc Martin on Daily Motion but the popup ads are so annoying now I can barely make it through 1 episode. Netflix casts seamlessly to my tv but DM is constantly interrupted forcing me to go through the motions of refreshing, pausing, playing all over again to get it to cast. Then I have to find where I left off and immediately there are the ads that happen. Too frustrating to deal with technology that seems like it was written in the mid 90's! Please get your team together... it can't be that difficult.
How in the world can a business survive doing something that nobody wants it to do? My god, the ad volume, the way in which the ads are shown, the repetitiveness of the ads. Wow! I had ads knocking the browser out of full screen mode. Repeatedly. It felt like the ads were an obstacle course trying to prevent me from watching the video I was watching. Actively warring against me. I will do everything in my power to not use dailymotion ever again.
This website is terrible. One of the worst I've ever seen. The only good thing about it is that it's free and it's so not worth it. I'd rather spend a month's salary than use this. They literally play ads (2 at a time) every 3 minutes, there are constant pop ups on the screen, and it makes your computer freeze. It's not a spam website, but it's pretty damn close. It used to be better, but that's how this $#*! works. People wanna make money so screw if we like it.
The fact that they do not allow comments on their site or under their videos is very telling!
The site is laid out as platform built to allow sharing in a delightful community of video enthusiasts. But it isn't quite what it first appears.
The reason they do not encourage comments is because they have little or no interest in the feelings or opinions of their users. Their existence is to profit from us and not cooperatively share.
They thrive on the our desperation and once 'hooked', proceed to try to extract all they can from our viewing experiences.
As a child of the 80s, there are many shows of the 80s and 90s that I hold dear. Most of these are very difficult to get hold of and there lies the problem.
With so little alternatives I find myself consigned to the limited selection of viewing platforms online. Platforms that care little for the integrity of the content or quality of the viewing experience.
Dailymotion do not allow comments because they DO NOT WANT TO HEAR our opinions on the experience.
They are acutely aware of the value of the files they hold and our interest in their content. They know also how limited an access to some of this content exists so are assured of our patronage.
Watching an episode of American Gothic 1995 recently, I endured one of the worst online experiences I've ever had the miss fortune of suffering.
Painfully Enduring a succession of advertisements that diminished the pleasure, distracted from the narrative and disrupted the atmosphere. In fact for a 40-45 minute run time we endured no less than over 8 advert breaks.
Advertisements are supposed to be about selling or seducing the public into purchases of products or experiences. Something that cannot be achieved when forced upon us in such an aggressive and overly repetitive manner.
Dailymotion method of advertisements included in their videos is reflective of their entire ethos - Fishing.
Lure us, hook us and bash us with adverts.
With a collection of rare videos we cannot find elsewhere as the bait, they proceed to feed us advert after advert in onslaught.
Little care is taken to the quality (the recent episode I watched was back to front and terrible picture quality).
Some will probably say- if you don't like it, dont go on the site.
But as it's the only place I can find to watch certain shows from my youth at all there is little choice.
And I personally do not think that the fact they have these and others do not is an excuse to be so poor at what you do.
Any site that has no interest in their users opinions is one that doesn't deserve its place online.
Answer: What do you mean you cant watch any videos, can you be more specific?
Answer: Get Adblock -- free download software -- will improve things immensely.
