I am very confident that Stripe is a scam. After being able to only once withdraw money past their standard delay of one week, my next payment was not received and is being held captive for what's soon going to be two months. They always postpone the money release schedule and their support system is futile, they just repeat the same apocryphal excuse, which is "reviewing your information." Even if that was true, it says that the review typically takes 2-3 days, but it has been as I've said what's very soon going to be 2 months with 0 progress.
They will keep your money with no real reason. I am confident to say that it's a scam, as first they set up a decoy by allowing you to once get your money to gain trust, and instantly betray it. Avoid this shady platform.
I strongly advise against using Stripe for your payment processing needs. This company is incredibly careless and unprofessional. They have a habit of charging your customers' payments, but when issues arise, they completely ignore you. Their customer service is non-existent, and they will not respond to any inquiries or attempt to resolve problems. On top of that, I've experienced what seems like fraudulent behavior – they take the money and leave you stranded. Don't waste your time with them. There are far better and more reliable payment processors out there.
These guys are CLOWNS! My business was "verified" by them, and no problem for 2 years. And then suddenly they require me to "verify" my business AGAIN. SO I try and do that, but they, for some reason, question that I am the ONLY Director for my company, incorporated in 2005. So I send a copy of the Annual Report, that lists the company directors, and that is not good enough for them. I have asked them to tell me why they do not believe that I am the only director - PROVE somehow that there is another director, but they can't and won't and so now my account is suspended - and for what? Who cares if there is another Director - which there isn't. Why do they think I am not the sole Director of my company, which bears my name?! I have chatted, and emailed, and uploaded forms, and they still won't budge, or show any reason why they think there would be other directors. And why does that matter or pose a security risk to anyone anyway? These guys are foolish, invasive, dishonest clowns with their "security". Well, I disconnect my website from Woopayments/Stripe with a single click, and go back to using only PayPal... who has never had the nerve to make me REVERIFY an existing business, or give a rat's about directors or other such nonsense. How can STRIPE question a business that they have previously "verified"? Who do these guys think that they are? Foolish CLOWNS, that's who!
SMALL BUSINESSES, do NOT trust stripe for merchant services. This company does not protect your money. We had a relstionship with Stripe for years, with several completed transactions, and we never had a chargeback. One day we got a unauthorized payment dispute of more than $1,600 from a client we helped 3 months prior to the dispute. Stripe immediately refunded the money to fraudulent client, and charged our account. Do not trust Stripe. You are not protected from even the most obvious fraud.
Furthermore, out of nowhere they started charging us random fees [additional taxes, invoice fees]. These random fees came and as we werent using their merchant services.
I would strongly recommend not using Stripe. I have an online store they allowed 2 transactions to go thru which were fraud. Luckily the third party website suspended these buyers for suspicious activity. I looked at the transactions and 2 people were trying to purchase $1500 and $1000 worth of jewelry. One showed as an elevated risk yet they allowed them to go thru, even with no CVC being entered. Looking at previous transactions that were blocked all these transactions were using Regions Bank cards with expiration dates in 2027 and probably made up names. I contacted support to let them know these were fraud and the red flags I noticed with them and was told I did not have to proceed with the transactions. I refunded both but 1 was already sent to my bank so I had to wait for the money to go back to Stripe to complete the refund. In the meantime 1 cardholder opened a dispute which stopped the refund process. On top of their processing fees I am also out $15 for the chargeback. When called to discuss the fees I am told there is nothing they can do. They allowed the CC charges to go thru and now I am out over $100 for fees and have to also get the taxes back from the third party website for the orders. Would not recommend as they take no accountability for allowing fraud to occur on their site, but were happy to collect the fees.
They literally steal money under false pretenses and when you try to get support you will never get it.
Their customer support is the biggest joke I ever heard
I will keep expose them so no body will had too deal with them
Warning: Beware of stripe scam. I fell victim to a $30,000 loss with them, and their customer support is unresponsive to my inquiries. Fortunately, Traderep0rt.0rg assisted me rec0ver my lost investments from stripe
I would recommend to everyone who is thinking about using this platform to think about it. They have made my company lose thousands of pounds by hiding behind clause number 5.6, after a dispute with a customer who requested a refund for an item, keeping all the money we had sold in a month in our store. We currently work with Square and we have not had any problems in addition to the fact that it is cheaper and was much easier to integrate into our web platform.
Stripe suspended my account without warning and with no reason. They are holding £££££'s of my cash for 120 days and have terminated all incoming transactions.
For a small business, this has absolutely crippled my finances and we will likely have to close as a result.
I urge any small business owner to avoid Stripe at all costs, they WILL fleece you (Google "Stripe 120 days" for lots of identical cases).
Stripe Locked our funds but our lawyers managed to get it released, we decided to help others who still have their funds locked up, we charge a small amount and we get it legally released to you, you can find more information at https://shinelawaustralia.com/
Answer: Hi Jon, I'm sorry that you're having trouble with disputes -- they can be frustrating! Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. This process is facilitated by credit card networks, but Stripe helps with this process by submitting evidence that you provide, such as tracking numbers. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction. It can be tricky for even experienced businesses to understand how to handle a dispute, so we've spent time documenting the various circumstances under which a payment can be disputed, and how best to handle each -- I'd recommend taking a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes to learn more. Please also take a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes#how-can-i-prevent-disputes to learn more about preventing disputes. I hope this helps shed some light on our approach here. Again, I'm sorry that dealing with disputes are frustrating. Stripe actively dedicates resources to making this problem better and, over time, go away entirely. We can certainly look into your account and these specific disputes, if you'd like, if you send us a message at https://support.stripe.com/email.
