I'm not even joking this sht was so fcking attrocious back when I had to use it for some btchass math class I can't even remember what the fck was even wrong with it I just automatically know that it was designed by some kind of autistic imbecile and that's literally an insult to every half decent autistic person out there. Using it just generally made me rather want to shove a 50 cal full auto a foot down my throat and pull the trigger.

IXL is basically top-tier torture disguised as an educational tool. You think it's here to help you learn, but no — it's more like a psychological punishment machine. The moment you open IXL, it feels less like studying and more like signing a lifetime prison contract. Let's talk about the infamous SmartScore. Don't be fooled — there's nothing "smart" about it. It's pure StupidScore. You can grind for an hour, get 15 questions right in a row, and feel like you're almost done. Then you mess up once, and BOOM — you lose 10 points instantly. That drop hits harder than the stock market crashing. One tiny mistake can erase an entire hour of progress. It's not motivating — it's soul-crushing. The question design? Endless repetition until you mentally collapse. Wrong answers aren't just wrong — they're treated like crimes. One mistake equals ten times the punishment. It doesn't feel like growth; it feels like IXL whispering: "you're worthless." And the explanations? Supposed to help, right? Pretend you are a kid that is doing ixl, u get the correct answer, ur at 99, but you get the next question wrong, boing ur a 53 points, so if ur parent don't waste ur money and use something something like prodigy or any other app, DON'T lose money to this absolute disgrace and evil company

So, IXL. People hate this website, and if you gave a 5-star review, then you're definitely using the calculator. I mean, IXL is terrible, but it's not as bad as you think. I really didn't want to admit it, but it actually got my grade up. But I don't understand why my parents make me do it in SUMMER when you're SUPPOSED to be on break. And also, IXL thought that 0.0007 was GREATER than 0.0077, (as seen in the picture) which makes me think that IXL is about as useful as a gaming PC without an operating system. Also, proof of purchase: the dashboard has "My IXL" on it.

I'm just a kid, but listen to me. Ixl Is bad. First, There is no paper or anything, so It's hard for you do do those complex math problems. You might be thinking 'Just get paper" ther is a timer that will stress you out. Not sure why they included this, but how should i know Also, the word problem's don't make any sense. Here is a problem: "The cafeteria sold 9 fewer bowls of chicken soup than bowls of tomato soup. They sold 15 bowls of soup in all. How many bowls of tomato soup did the cafeteria sell?" You can solve this, they have videos teaching you how, but the video says 'Guess some random number close to the answer, do a bunch of calculations, and GET IT WRONG yes, It expects,( No, wants) you to get it wrong. Then do it again and again until you get it right. The point of math is to get it right. It is okay if you amke mistakes, but to purposly tell you to get it wrong is crazy. The reading ones are easy, but I am a nerd. Next, It makes these false claims of 'Personalized learning' It tell syou when you get an question wrong, This is supposed to be good, but it taunts you, telling you exactly how and why you got it wrong. It doesn't even give you an explanation. It just tells you the ansewer. They also have this smart-score thing. If you get a question wrong, it goes down a lot. If you get it right, it gives you like 2-3 points. Mind you, the way to 'Beat" ixl is to get a 100. If you are at the "challange zone", the final 10 points, if you get one wrong, it willl send you to like 82 points and you have to waste another 5 minutes of your time getting to the challange zone again. It also makes you feel "Happy" by giving you awards. Sort of like a video game, but not fun to play the game. Don't belive me, Check out other reveiws at common sense media or try the free trial. Please ban this. No kid should go through the mental torture me and my classamtes have endured.

It gives you very little points for a correct question and takes away about 10 points when you get a question wrong. Especially when you get close to the high point levels. It tries to make you do math for eternity. Just awful.

I hate it, teachers act like its so fun, they're not the ones doing it, why should u believe them? And the point system is just unfair. U get 2 points for a right one, lose 10 points for a wrong one.

IXL is just such a badly made website. It's questions are way to specific and if you miss a question it takes your Smart Score down 20 points. I have never learned anything from IXL and it is just not helpful at all. IXL often has incorrect questions and its ELA questions are just barf worthy. I hate everything about IXL and even the teachers don't like it. I would rather be tortured than do IXL.

I spend hours and hours on this damn point system to get to 100, which by the way, is unfair in all standards, and when I make a mistake, it drops 20 POINTS! Like, WHAT THE HELL, IXL? I've had to answer like 50 questions because it gives me completely unrelated things like if an ant eats 400 grams how big is the sun WHAT IS THIS? And the worst part is, it takes up WAY too much time! Like, I got S*** to do other than have a MENTAL BREAKDOWN OVER A GODDAMN MATH QUESTION IN LIFE! And I'm not even bad at math! I'm in NINTH GRADE LEVEL MATH
The questions also scale from how much is 2t+2t and the next questions is like 5(7y+23+8986)=? 1 star. Do NOT recommend unless you want to have as much rage and hatred as Satan himself.

Literally no no one needs to go through this sh*tty program. I hate where it pulls you back when you only get fricken one wrong. No real human even benefits from the stupid mechanics of this site. The whole site is just a rip off so teachers can be lazy. Its is only good at turning youthful students into old Karens! Don't ever use!

Please dont do ixl, i failed many of my classes because of it and now im homeless, I am typing on a library computer and i wish you to not do what i did an dont do ixl.

So, I'm having a nice elementary school and then IXL comes in. This site IS SOOO BORING. I'd rather do a Blooket ALL DAY. At the end of the year the teachers give us cards and say, "Write down what you didn't like this year." We've been doing IXL since 1st grade and every year I've said IXL. And I'm in 5th grade so that wasn't a short time either. ONE STAR EASILY IF THERE WAS NO STARS THAT WOULD BE WHAT I USED.

IXL is the worst platform for kids to learn from because it prioritizes repetitive drills over real understanding. The grading system is frustrating, punishing mistakes too harshly, and discouraging students instead of helping them improve. Instead of fostering a love for learning, it creates stress and anxiety. Better alternatives exist that actually support kids in developing skills with positive reinforcement and meaningful practice.
