Had an account with Helcim/Elavon. They decided to split and I stuck with Helcim. Little did I know, Elavon had a separate account and were charging us $99.99 monthly under the generic description, "Merchant Fees" which I didn't catch for quite some time. When I finally found out it was Elavon over a year later, I called for a refund, was hung up on several times and was refused a refund despite never receiving a single notice by mail, email, call or text about my "contract" or bill. I had recommended Helcim/Elavon for years, but it looks like Helcim was doing the good work for customer service. This industry lives and dies by reputation and Elavon has decided to take shortcuts for quick profits at the expense of long-term gains. What they are doing is theft. Stay away.
Left well deserved bad review on their end naming representative assigned to me by name. They attempted to get the other app it was on to force me to change it. I'll say…….it wished they'd paid that type of attention to me when I was a customer.
I understand about preventing fraud. I think it's commendable to suspect a malignant account. My account was pulled after weeks of what they said was 'inactivity.' It was so based off of a 'fraud paradigm' from what customer service told me. Elavon, make sure your team calls me when I tell them to after they send 5 or 6 emails trying to help me start an account. There was no activity because we could not get any of your staff on the line for weeks. Jeremiah Eure was assigned to me after the originally assigned helper had resigned for another job. I had to contact Jeremiah over half a dozen times including calls and emails. The system is cumbersome for even experienced tech wizzes. My hired tech support team struggled with the platform on top of staff not following up when asked. Then you the nerve to delete my account, telling me I do have the priviledge of filling out the same paperwork I labored through weeks earlier, if I want to try again. The automated email announcing my account was closed had the nerve to tell me they hoped we could do business again. Here's my business to you again...a bad review telling everyone they are better off using Paypal.
To much run around. Resubmit paperwork to many times. No one knows Why? Hummmm... Big circle jerk, I's unreal how many times they tell you something then they never follow through. Hope the FTC shuts them down. They are in co-hoots with US Bank So, do not open an account with that bank! The CEO needs vaseline to pull his head out of his $#*!. I submitted So many documents to get a refund because they drained my biz account of fees 49.99 each month during covid -19. Which they agreed not to do but did it anyway. They have corporate offices in Atlanta, Ga. The state attorney general has every right to shut them down. Report them to Senator of the state of GA. As well.
I called to inquire about costs. The rep insisted she have my banking info to provide scheduel of costs. I told her I was a new business owner and wanted to wait a few months before using the service. I was sent a letter and email telling me to contact Elavon when I desired to begin service and be sent a POS. Then right away they began to charge my bank account, first $60 then $195. I called Elavon and complained. I had my bank reverse the charges. Then Elavon sent my account to collections! I did not even use their service. BEWARE!
Webster's dictionary needs to add to the definitions of shyster, liar, scammer, swindler, crook, hoodwinker and bamboozler one word...ELAVON! This is not a one star review, this is a negative 10,000 review! Could never get into mypaymentsinsider.com account because they always locked me out and reset my password. Ostensibly, because they did not want me to see all of the fraudulent and fictitious charges that were being added to and then stolen from my account. Was told by my account representative they would be upgrading me from my existing account which, I can only assume meant he would receive thousands more from me unethically. Do yourself a favor...DON'T EVEN CONSIDER ELAVON! Unless they start making elavon toilet paper...then use them as much as you want!
If you are unlucky enough to be stuck with Elevon for you small business, for whatever reason, be prepared for your blood pressure to spike if you need to call their customer service, tech support or billing dept. I literally have to argue with them even to just ask the simplest question, usually before they just hang up on you. If I then try to phone back right away from the same number, they just don't answer. When I finally do get the privilege to talk to a different agent they treat me just as badly, as if there are notes written on my file to do so. Surely, they can't all be this bad...can they? Any good reviews (on their website, as they are hard to find anywhere else!) are absolutely fake, as I have had to call them about 30 times of the past few years and have never had a good or even professional experience! They only reason that I stick with them is my laziness to start all over with finding another. As long as I can get by without their help, I put up with it. As soon as my terminal fails, I will move on, as I will never buy another from this company, ever!
Worst customer service i have ever experienced in my 40 years if being in business…….it's IMPOSSIBLE to actually speak with someone. They do all by e mail, and you don't know who your talking to …….
My company recently wrote a negative review over Authorize. Net and Electronic Payments co. We endorsed our new processor Elavon. We are a large art & antiques co with part of an internet sales platform we conduct some business on. Card processors & merchants are being faced with a new scam called Friendly Fraud. Thats when a buyer makes a purchase then invents some fictional issue as an excuse to keep your goods and not pay for it as well. Oddly thats simply called felony larceny but of course nothing can be that simple anymore. Its now called Friendly Fraud. Long story short Elavon quickly failed to protect us in such a case & we quickly caught them trying to hang us onto to dry when they have an absolute fiduciary responsibility to protect the merchant from fraud along with their assets. We did a lot of research on this getting all the way into Tiffany at Elavons Fraud dept in Knonxville Tn. After a quick round of very simple questions Tiffany could not even tell me what legally defined Fraud. The poor girl doesnt even know that simple question running their Fraud dept. Elavon is as slimy as others. We won this dispute when our own bank interceded in our behalf. Thanks Berkshire Bank. You are awesome. Elavon is another basket full of weasels
