The information that I paid for was too generic to be of any value. I have since then learned these types of clocks were caried by Mail Guards who were postal employees aboard horse drawn mail coaches which ran in the 18th and 19th centuries in Great Britain and in Canada. The Mail Guard carried a clock which he could not adjust and had to fill out a "time bill" proving the coach had run on time or explaining why not if it was delayed.
Item was valued incorrectly twice. Item also dated incorrectly three times. Item is worth £500 valuer started off at $40 then ended up after three valuations at $400. Item was made in around 1590, valuer dated it three times and started of at late nineteenth early 20th century then stated it could be 18th century all of which is incorrect. I had to research the item and pass on the information I found to the valuer so. Current valuation and date still incorrect after three valuations. Sad to say very disappointed on this occasion.
I found the service to be efficient and convenient for getting a quick, professional appraisal on collectible items. The process was simple: after uploading photos and details of my item, I received a detailed report within 48 hours. I appreciated the expert valuation, which included an estimated auction value and insurance value, along with historical context and a description of the piece. The PDF certificate added a layer of credibility to the appraisal, especially useful for both personal knowledge and any future sales or insurance needs.
I appreciated the rapid, professional and friendly service with my first evaluation. The latest one, however, was apparently not evaluated by a competent specialist. I have complained and am waiting for a response.
No one looked at the picture, it seemed like an AI response as it talked a lot about the picture on the cover but not so much about the various signatures on the page,
Hi David, thank you for your review. As our appraiser mentioned in her appraisal, whilst we are an appraisal service rather than a signature authentication service; there are many companies that offer an authentication service and as our appraiser advises should you obtain a certification of authenticity for these signatures their value on the open market will be increased. We offer reviews of our appraisals, free of charge, once you have this certification, simply email the certificate to info@valuemystuff.com and we will review. With thanks and kind regards, VMS support team
Aged pieces of furniture but in good quality. Confusing to guess what they are worth. I found the appraisal site in line with what might have been thought and a great supporting source.
Very timely and realistic appraisal, easy website.
Response was timely. Information provided was helpful. I should have included a photograph of the back of the item, which looks the same as the front, but the reviewer(s) need to see both sides to assess condition.
I had an item where I wasn't sure about the originality. My uncertainty was confirmed. It was clearly stated why the item was not original.
Thanks, and see you next time!
I simply sent photos of the item I wanted valued and within the specified timeframe I have my information.
It was a pleasure to deal with such a reputable company. Very professional and quick response times. I will be using them in the future and recommending them to my friends.
