This looked great to start. I even paid for a membership, though it really doesn't seem to add any value. Their system for recording your military service is confusing and ungainly. If their system doesn't match up with your experience, you'll have to use weird workarounds that don't accurately reflect your military career. Particularly if you were in more than one service. You'll have separate profiles instead of one that reflects your total military career. Worst off is the support. Be prepared for arrogant, unprofessional responses from their DB admin when you ask simple questions. And if he doesn't think you know your own military history, it doesn't get fixed. It will also take a long time for simple updates of your records, if they happen at all.
Ok on the PC, but nothing but headaches on an iPad. Been trying to get TWS to acknowledge the problem since Nov 2013. Very poor customer service. After multiple email relays, they would act like the problem was new, and I had to start all over again describing the login in issued.
Next they said I was not logging onto their site, so I sent them photos of their login site, radio silence.
A week later I inquiries on the progress, and they ask me to AGAIN describe the issue.
Then they said it was an iPad problem, strange that it worked fine for the first year!
Unfortunately I had extended my membership for three years, and this is how they treat me? Want to bet I never see the three years refunded?
Update - they returned to old format and now works great again. And they extended my membership as compensation.

This might have been a great idea but turns out that in my opinion it's pretty close to being a scam website. I was looking for people in my Vietnam War unit because I filed a claim for agent orange and was looking for additional verification of my exposure, but found non. They take your money saying you can cancel anytime et. And then do not provide any INFORMATION ABOT CANCELLING OR EVEN CONTACTING THEM. You cannot even click on their Terms of Service link which is near the bottom of their page because the slider won't hold there. I tried to cancel in vain so I disputed the $19.95 charge with my Chase credit Card and immediately the charge was reversed by the bank with no further action on my part necessary.
I am sorry to hear that your experience on the site was so bad. We do have multiple tools available to members to use to help them verify their claims with the VA. One is to add their units to their page. From there, as a full member, they can message those that may help. Another is to utilize our locator service. We've been very successful at locating those that may not be members of TWS. The third and easiest by far, is to ask for it. At the bottom left of every TWS page is a live help desk. We are there to answer any and all questions our members may have about the site, including canceling a membership fee if you changed your mind.

If you are on a PC you can use the quick search in top right to search by name, or use the search tab top right to search by name, rank, service years even nickname or a combination of all of the above. If you are still wanting to know how to get your Facebook Cover, please follow these steps: 1. Log into TWS. 2. Click on Facebook Cover. 3. Click on Email Me My Cover. 4. Click on Send Cover (so long as your email address is correct which it should be). 5. Open your email. 6. Open the email from TWS (check your spam folder if not in your in-box). 7. Click on the image of your cover and this will open it on your browser. 8. Right click on the image and save to your device. (Remember where you saved it.) 9. Go to your wall on Facebook. 10. Move your mouse to the top left corner where the little camera is and click on it. 11. Click on the choice Upload Photo. 12. Navigate to where you saved your photo and select it; then click Open. 13.
