Read the terms. If you cancel your account for any reason (or they cancel it on you) they will keep any money you have put in your account to pay for swaps or postage.

I've also has some pretty rude customer service from them (the real reason I cancelled). USPS lost a couple of CDs coming to me and the customer service rep accused me of just never marking them received, took extra credits from my account so I ended up with negative credit and told me they won't refund the money left in my account. Not worth the hassle unless you want to trade for a bunch of $1 bin cds.

This site is one of very few (remaining) CD trading sites. I have sent and received hundreds of CDs over the past 10 years. Yes, trading has slowed down. But CDs are not as popular as they once were. There is a $0.49 transaction fee for every title requested. This fee pays for site maintenance. Because trading traffic is slow, pay this fee as you go. The CD quality you receive will vary. Some good, some poor. These are USED CDs from someone's collection. If you want to choose the quality of CDs you receive buy them on Amazon. Beware, CDs can be mailed without a CD case. This increases the volume of CDs mailed, but increases the possibility of damage by the post office. Finally, there are rules in place to weed out bad actors. People who try to "game" the system. Your account will not be placed on hold without warning. Follow the rules and (most) everyone gets along.

Lots of good quality CDs to request & swap but there were recurrent computer glitches on the website that the customer service refused to acknowledge even though it was easily shown as true. Disappointed in the condescending, almost rude, attitude of the customer service.

This business lies. There is no swapping going on. They are a middleman where you pay them to get a cd/dvd/book from another person. They don't demand that you only get high quality cds that have all the liner notes. Lots of people have had trouble with getting sub par cds and liner notes from other people that the company has done nothing about. They say you can't get the money you put in out but I don't believe them. They want to keep the money and if they can screw you over they will. Do NOT join this site or their others. They have stolen money from multiple people because they are greedy money grubbing people.

Be careful, you end up sending Cds and swpacd refuses to give credit. I had mailed a CD with a USPS tracking number, they refused to give me credit even though it was delivered. I assume this is because they want you to purchase credits rather than earn them through actual swaps. So what you end up doing is paying for postage and giving the CD away for free. Who wants to throw money away like that. I am cancelling my account.

This is a great site. It's a good way to get rid of your cds that you no longer listen to, and get some in return that you want. They tell you to wrap your cds in a piece of paper to send, but when I did that the person who received it said the cd had broken during shipping. So after that I sent all cds in the cd case inside a bubble mailer. It was a few dollars more for shipping but that's the way I would want them sent to me.
If you really want to get rid of your cds I suggest giving them to Goodwill because that is truly free.

I've now spent three years using this site and strongly endorse the idea it proposes... post any CD you no longer need, and hopefully connect with someone who wants it. If that happens, you get a credit you can use to claim a CD posted by someone else. The concept is simple; it's hard to understand why the site fails so monumentally to fulfill it's potential. One big reason for this failure is a stubborn refusal to monitor and deal with users who have lost interest, found another outlet for their CDs, or for any other reason are no longer active. This means such a long-gone "member" will still have discs listed for trade, and probably a "wish list" of discs they were looking for, but when a true active user attempts a transaction with that person, they will encounter a dead end, involving a "timing out" process that drags on and eventually results in nothing but frustration. The site's own discussion forums have for years (really) been rife with user complaints about this, and yet no meaningful response from administrators. In the first months of this year, it is clear that user dissatisfaction, coupled with a steady decline in the number of desirable discs being offered, probably means the site's future viability is in question.

Froze a friends account because he was slow at shipping out CD's. So he got stuck losing money he put in the trade system and over 300 credits from cd's he shipped out. Avoid this site.
