Samy's Camera

Twice now have I gone to this place to have my camera serviced. The gentlemen that looked at my camera said that it would take about 10 days to get repaired, they called me this morning on the 5th day informing me that they've finished and its ready to come home. Flopped out of bed and came right over, again I was very pleased with the repairs and the price was quite reasonable! They're always very polite, funny and helpful but more importantly, I trust them! Thanks guys! :)

When I failed to complete my order 2 months ago, I thought all was lost in getting my new Sony camera. I spoke to Rod in Samy's customer service, and he jumped into action. He called me later in the morning with a suggestion, which I followed up on. The Sony model had just been released, and by working with Rod and Samy's and Sony, the model shipped today. This was above and beyond any online site I've worked with, camera or anything. Samy's rocks, and Rod is the man. He earned a customer for life!

I purchased a Cannon creator kit camera from Samy's. They chose to ship the item via FedEx with signature required. I never received the item. After many calls to both FedEx and Samy's camera neither took responsibility, so I am out over $650. Very disappointed and although it seems FedEx is at fault for loosing the item I also hold Samy's at fault since they choose FedEx.

Unfortunately I have to leave this. Please, please CHECK your items before shipping. I am extrodinarily disappointed. I ordered a used 24mm 2.8/f lens for a gig. Shipping was swift, but upon inspection I was given a 40mm 2.8/f lens with the tag reading "24mm". I am not able to work with this lens as the depth of field is not correct for my subject matter. I called promptly to explain my issue, and was told the 24mm I ordered was never actually available and this was a mistake. All I was offered was a refund after the item is shipped back and received, and that human error is to blame - "I'm sorry" however doesn't resolve me being unable to work. I am hopeful to use the refund to buy a used lens from Canon directly. I wish I could leave a better review but this is an extremely frustrating oversight that prevents me from working the gig as planned.

I typically have shopped online at BHphotovideo and adorama but recently found Samys camera to be an excellent value and they have better customer service than either of the other sites in terms of really helping you pick out the best equipment for your needs. And met some of their employees who were very knowledgeable. They can sometimes have deals that are not on their website I noticed so call them if you are looking for something specific.

For me, it has been an simple and convenient favour. You are very awesome because I visited your website, but your customer service is not strong.
