I've never seen a site where the moderators insert themselves into political threads anywhere near this much.
As most or all of the moderators are far left leaning, it creates a hostile environment for conservatives. Especially if the mods start arguing with the posters in open forum.
It is easy for the mods to forget they are in a superior position and this is a way to shut down a sincere debate.

WARNING! Stay away from this place. It is run by a feckless LW staff who protects and provides info for certain posters to dox and harass you in real life. The owner is an absentee owner who uses the site to datamine your personal information. There are two classes of members there, the protected class who are all the lw posters and the few remaining conservative posters who are attacked then moderated if they reply in kind. The site is toxic and dangerous to your personal information. I've been a member for over a decade, in recent years it has become a toxic cell pool.
Member since 2006. It doesn't matter what your political leanings are, because this forum's staff has double standards and extremely bad attitudes. Rules aren't posted clearly and in some cases aren't even written down, and staff doesn't have to follow them if they don't want to. Consequently, members frequently attack each other in vicious ways. Staff gets to do this as much as they want with no consequences. No insult is off limits, and no personal attack is too vile. Admins are called "council hall" and they've held their positions for years and can't be arsed to do their jobs anymore. The "grievance process" is just a modified contact form that forwards to the council halls' personal emails, and no record is ever kept of the outcome. The owner of the forum only comes around about twice a year, and cares for nothing but advertising revenue. Speaking of ads, you'd better have some good antimalware, because there are a couple dozen ads on every page from some seriously sketchy sources. Sometimes you pick up a browser hijacker from them. This forum used to be one of the best around, but over the years as people stopped caring about how it's run, it's turned into just another kennel of barking dogs. If you like 4chan, you'll *love* PH. Participate at your own risk.
This is one of the best political forums out there. Moderation is fair and personal attacks are generally handled promptly. A good balance of right and left leaning ideologies. A good time and would recommend to anyone looking for a good place to land.

The progressives there harass conservatives and moderates until they leave. The mods ban or harass them also. Their rules are applied differently depending on the individual's political orientation. They've lost about 2/3 of their activity since 2013. It got so bad they changed their formatting and hid the "numbers".

The freedom to express conservative political views is not accepted and will be met with harsh and unfair retaliation, including frequent thread bans and and permabans as well. The rules are made up as you go along in order to achieve the goal of silencing all conservative opinions. Political Hotwire is an extremely unfair and unfriendly forum. Potential members beware. Conservative members are not welcome there and will not be tolerated.

A great community for debating and sharing political opinions and news. It has it's share of fly by nights that just come on to troll, and there are a few malcontents but overall I enjoy the forum.
Terrible site. All liberal and they do not allow opposing opinions. On top of that they are stupid. They obviously do not read papers or watch the news. Everything I said they wanted proof. These were stories that were trending at the time. Not worth my time.
