This site is littered with ads. To make it useable for students you have to buy a subscription. They give you a good deal up front, but then put you on auto renewal for TWICE the amount you sign up for. Be careful because they do not send a reminder and do not give refunds, even if you haven't used the program. As a teacher spending MY OWN money to support my students, I don't appreciate being ripped off by companies like this. Totally disappointed.
Just don't do it! I signed my son up for a 1 year subscription since he was having fun with the free games and wanted access to the rest of the games. Unfortunately, the games quickly became boring, and we have had endless problems logging on to the site on his iPad, the website often simply doesn't load.
To make matters worse, there's no way to get out of the 1 year subscription except by cancelling (no refunds at all) and if you don't cancel you will be automatically be charged again next year.
Totally shady business, poor website, really overpriced.
This website does not work! It looks like it's going to be great but my students could never practice on it because it wouldn't load. We wasted so much time just trying to get it to work. Then they'll just pull money from your account without any notification or permission. This is the ONLY teaching website I have subscribed to that does this.
Every game is laggy. At first, the math games like Agar Math and Slither Math are fun and engaging, but soon enough, you see it starts to lag. It can't load, the screen goes black, the sounds won't work, and you have to reload. Worst of all, after you reload in games like Math Buzz or Launch the Llama, it doesn't save your progress. Please don't waste your time on these games.
Truthfully,

Signed up for month to month but accidentally signed up for the year. ($45 mistake)
Only 12 HOURS had passed when I caught my mistake. This was an oversight on my part and now I will pay for it. Not one student had logged into Mathgames and NOT ONE activity completed. Sent email explaining only 12 hours had passed and please let me switch to month to month for my kids. As teachers, we are all trying to find programs that can help meet our educational goals and also balance virtual learning as well.
They promptly sent back an email and said NO. Obviously, they are out for a sale at any cost. Our math dept. and our K-12 school will not use Mathgames. They are driven by $$$. They will most likely automatically charge your card the following year for double the price AND probably without notice. ($90 according to the fine print... NOT $45 for the first year they used to get the initial sale. BEWARE!
MathGames.com advertises a monthly fee and then charges you a years worth in 1 go. We realised 10min later when the charge hit our account and contacted customer services who basically points to T&C's saying "no refunds". They do not care about customers, they just want you to put your card in and then they take your money and run. I am now trying to get our bank to reverse the charge as the merchant is dishonest.
I paid for a subscription and my students had major issues with the interface as well as the questions because they were not ipad compatible and wouldn't let them answer questions. Way too expensive for so many issues!
My 9 year old daughter had this site (mathgames.com) presented to her by the teacher. My daughter accidentally signed up for it and my PayPal was charged $45. I didn't notice it. Now, a year later I received a notice from PayPal that MathGames.com charged me $90! (So that's $130 together now). I immediately emailed the company (and the Teach company) to let them know that we do t use their site and would like a refund. Teach company responded only a week and a half later with general suggestion to visit their site. While MathGames.com declined my request. My daughter's current teacher doesn't use this site, so no one needs it in our family. This is a VERY SNEAKY company and I wouldn't trust them with your PayPal account. Do not sign up. You'll regret.
This product makes you pay for a year up front when you find you don't like the product and contact them telling them you didn't like it and it doesn't fit with your class or work for your students. They already have your money and say it's policy to not give a refund or prorate you. I contacted them 1-2 days after they took the money out of my account and they said we don't give refunds and you have access to the account for the year. I don't want access because it's not worth the money. Terrible customer service.
There is no way this company should ever be allowed to continue to do business. They are completely unresponsive, callous and uncaring toward customers who pay a HUGE amount of money to join their site. They do not notify you when your huge yearly payment is coming up. The least they could do is have the decency to send reminders. They refuse to help anyone who gets caught up in their scheme. PLEASE I BEG YOU NOT TO GIVE THIS COMPANY EVEN ONE DIME!
Answer: Yes. Prodigy is a good, engaging game many kids like my child love. However, they may get bored after awhile of they don't have premium.
