My family of 10 booked a vacation to Florida through VRBO and was horrified by the dirty house we entered into. At 2 am we decided to find a hotel as the home was too dirty and one of the beds was broken and unusable. It was also infested with roaches! Not a good place for an 8 month old traveling with us. We called Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista and spoke with a wonderful woman named Rosa Linda who took such great care of us! At 2 am she found 3 rooms to accommodate our large group at a very reasonable rate. The hotel is clean and the rooms spacious. This hotel crew went out of their way to make sure our stay was awesome and it was. I will book there again and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for good rates and a great experience. Thank you Hampton Inn and crew!
We had to park down the street because there was no parking in the hotel parking. The hotel staff acted like that was the norm and didn't apologize. The shower handle fell off and the room was not very nice. No fridge either.
I booked a 3 day stay at Hampton Inn. I went to the Hampton Inn website for the city I was to visit and clicked on the Reservation tab on the hotel website. I did not realize that the booking went through a 3rd party booking agency. When I got home from vacation, I got an email receipt of my stay. The actual cost for the room was only $472. My credit card was charged for $714 when I made the reservation. A rip off!
My husband and I came here for a nice weekend getaway. The place looks nice and new as it is 2 years old but when we went to check out our room there was a hair on the toilet seat and more in the tub. Disgusted by this, we went to the front desk asking for a new room. When the manager came to check, he gave us odd vibes as though we had put the hairs there ourselves. He said, "You know, it's weird because this room was cleaned by our cleaning supervisor and she doesn't even have straight hair. Isn't that strange?" He made us feel uncomfortable and as though we were at fault. Finally he agreed to have it cleaned (which i don't understand why it was even a question if they weren't going to give us a different room.) Aside from the managers rude behavior the room was nice and modern looking. The bed was comfy and they gave a complimentary toiletry kit including cotton balls, a shower cap and cotton swabs. There was also a nice breakfast in the morning. All in all i would say that i wouldn't return here as i can find a nice hotel with better service for the same price.
My wife and I decided to go away for the weekend and we chose to come to the Hampton Inn and Suites Yonkers. When we got there, the guy behind the desk was really nice and friendly. He put us in our room really quickly. When we got to our room, we noticed that there were hairs on the toilet seat as well as in the tub. We went back to the front desk and asked if we can be changed to a room that had been cleaned. After the manager sent someone else to see if there were really hairs in our room, and got a confirmation that there were indeed a few hairs there, he came to check it out himself. When he saw that there were hairs, he made us feel very uncomfortable (giving us a vibe that he was anti semetic!) coming really close and stating that "it's so strange because I saw the supervisor cleaned the room, and she doesn't even have straight hair". (Indicated that we might have planted the hairs there or something of that sort, when we weren't asking for any sort of upgrade!) We felt really uncomfortable when in reality the manager should have apologized to us and try to make up for the inconvenience! This really ruined our vibe for the weekend which was a real shame because the hotel grounds we're really nice and the pool was great as well as the buffet breakfast that was included. I would not recommend going to this hotel because you can go to many other hotels where the staff will treat you like a paying customer.
Hampton Inn is part of the Hilton Hotel collection that is individually owned. This hotel chain can go from exquisite to poor depending on location.
I've been a member for over a decade going from the basic (blue member) to top (diamond) member. I stay at the Hilton chain whenever I can with Hampton Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites, Hilton Garden Inn as my three favorites.
The locations of most Hampton Inns are really nice. Some are a bit dated and older but still on the nice side. The lobbies are always clean and well maintained - regardless of the age of the hotel.
Another positive is that most employees are friendly and helpful when you ask them questions. Of course, not all of them are as knowledgeable and sometimes they tend to forget a few things when checking you in.
The Gold & Diamond members are supposed to be given free choice of beverage or a light snack as displayed on the counter but they don't always offer it. Diamond members are supposed to get a free upgrade, when rooms are available, but they don't always offer this either. They need to keep their loyal clients the best service. They could use some work in this area.
The most important aspect of any hotel is the bed! They pass this with flying colors. I have yet to stay at any Hampton Inn that didn't have wonderful bed and pillows. It's warn, comfortable and a pleasure to sleep in. They get an A++ in this area.
The rooms are mostly clean, but then there are occasions that makes me question their management. I've stayed at ones where the bathtub won't drain and I'm standing in a pool of water when taking a shower. I've had ones where the toilet is running all night long, room smells rather musty and wet.
The quality of the rooms vary so much that I can not rate it properly. It can be an A+ or a C -; depending on the location.
Their free breakfast is good with nice selection. Every hotel has a do-it-yourself waffle maker with sum yummy batter. Coffee & tea available 24 hours a day in the lobby and they do a pretty good job of making sure it's hot and fresh.
Most Hampton Inns are Outstanding, but a few are poor and dated, so my best rating is a 4 stars.
