I purchased a beautiful Red Toy Poodle from Grand River Poodles and I could not be happier with my experience. Over the months before my purchase Roberta explained the process.

She called me a few months before my purchase to let me know the mama had given birth. She took pictures but it was far to soon for me to make up my mind, but 5 weeks later I picked my Peanut. She told me she would not be ready until 8-9 weeks of age and we agreed on 9 since she would be flying to Pensacola Florida. I was worried about having her flown here but as soon as I picked her up I was relieved. She arrived in a new crate, with a beautiful tiny bed as well as a blanket.

I took her to the vet a few days later and was given a clean bill of health for my little Peanut. I could not be happier with my spunky AKC registered puppy.

Great Toy Poodle Breeder
October 11, 2022

Mrs. Katona and I have had many chats over the years about purchasing a dog but I never followed though. Recently I visited and found the house to be clean and fell in love with a beautiful apricot puppy. I took it home and just love it. The puppy is healthy and happy!

The Best
January 3, 2018

I just want to say the the toy poodle I purchased from Mrs. Katona very recently was everything she had promised it would be. I am so happy with my purchase of my new puppy. She means everything to me. She is my new best friend. On top of this, she is a beautiful red girl, full of love and is very healthy. Mrs. Katona kept me updated and informed on my new chosen puppy until the day I received her by responding frequently to any questions that I might have had by texting, phoning me, and sending videos of the puppy, so I could see how she was progressing. All I wanted was a happy and healthy puppy. This is exactly what I got. Mrs. Katona seems to be a very honest breeder. I would definitely consider buying another dog from her in the near future. I would highly recommend buying a puppy from Mrs. Katona to my relatives and friends. Thank You for everything Mrs. Katona!

My husband and I were going to. Purchase a mini poodle from this breeder. Their website stated the poodle was AKC registered and during the finalizing of the details we found out the dog was not AKC registered and that she would do a contract like other breeders do. She also stated they stand behind their poodles health wise but would not put that in writing either. She got offended that I was asking her to do what was stated she would do on her website. We did not purchase a poodle. I would think twice about purchasing a poodle from this breeder. She is very dishonest.

Grand River Poodles is always ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The reviewer refused to meet or visit the puppies at their home as required.
Grand River is a small family of AKC toy poodles. Every puppy is show quality and registered with the AKC. Pups are placed in loving forever homes.

This breeder is unethical and will sell you a disabled dog. She sold me a dog with grade 4 luxating patella and refused to accept her breeding was bad and she would not compensate me. She's an unethical money hungry scammer and she will take your money and lie. Do not trust her or spend your money with her. She offers no health guarantees and nothing in writing so she can't be held liable. Multiple vets told me she should be stripped of her breeding license. Beware of her and find a breeder that actually cares. She is a scammer

Grand River Poodles requires puppy is examined by a certified Vet soon following placement. If the Vet is less than thrilled with any aspect of puppy’s health, personality or disposition we need to know. They would immediately rectify such issue. Reviewer was fully satisfied with the puppy following Vet check up. At a much later date reviewer demanded to keep the puppy, funds returned and a free puppy. Grand River Poodles stands by the reviewer except she had no basis for such demand. Reviewer proceeded to Court. Vet reports did not at all substantiate the claim. Therefore, after much further review FALSE NEWS and reviewer embarrassed herself with contradictory recollection and did not prevail.

Contrary to Grand River Poodles comment that the AKC papers were given to the purchaser: The purchaser was me and the puppy was paid for with my money, given to my daughter to drive to Cleveland and pick up the puppy. We did have many promises in emails that the AKC papers were in the mail and we should get them the next day. The next day never came until we hired an attorney to write Breeder Katona to send us the papers or further legal processes would be put into place. We told her to send the paperwork to our daughter and sent her the addresses of both of our homes. More promises came, with snide remarks, but no papers until she met the deadline the attorney had given her.

I am the breeder of a GORGEOUS RED TOY POODLE. THE CLIENT IS THRILLED WITH EVERY ASPECT OF THE PUPPY! Your comments could not be further from the truth. Christina paid for the puppy in full and picked up the puppy. Christina’s name, address, e-mail and phone number as required by the AKC. When Christina obtained the puppy from our home. There was no mention of another person/certainly not an additional owner.
I, the breeder began receiving nasty and threatening emails and text from an unknown person demanding AKC papers.
An Attorney also called threatening me.
I explained Christina and no one else will receive the AKC papers when I file them.
AKC documentation/owner application to register a puppy, is provided to THE OWNER ONLY, upon pick up of the puppy. Due to another party demanding the AKC papers, I held them until I was informed by my AKC Inspection Officer. On that day, I sent the papers to Christina as confirmed proper by the AKC.
The only real problem was due to the fact I did not provide papers to the proper owner upon pick up of the puppy. She agreed and said that is not a problem at all. The puppy was placed in the care of a responsible ADULT, CHRISTINA.
Christina did not inform Grand River Poodles until a later date via text, this questionable and badgering individual was her Mother.
Christina informed me she borrowed the funds from her father. Never said Mother would be an owner of our puppy.
Best to anyone searching for their new best friend.
Signed very proudly, the breeder,

I wanted to surprise my husband with a Toy Poodle, as he had mentioned wanting one several times. The puppy was a Birthday surprise so I asked my adult daughter to try to see what she could find. We live in Ohio so it was great to find a breeder near Cleveland, OH, about a two-hour drive from us. My daughter, however, did not do her due diligence and did not read the reviews here. We paid $2500 cash for this puppy and our daughter was so excited to be a part of this surprise, that she did not get her AKC papers at purchase, which has always been the process whenever we've bought an AKC puppy before. My daughter sent a text message to Roberta Katona, in Perry Ohio, who sells her puppies under the name of Grand River Poodles. We were smart enough to keep the texts as proof that she kept promising the AKC papers and the receipt for $2500 (of course, getting a text that she will send a receipt for $2500, was in itself, a receipt and telling us that our AKC papers should come any day was a lie.) Why were the AKC papers so important to us? They were important because my feeling was that she advertised her puppies as AKC but didn't really register them, probably in order to save herself a bit of pocket change. Many people would probably not care and it would not have been an issue. The puppy was purchased at the end of March. She finally filed for the AKC papers on July 15,2022. Only after we contacted the Ohio Attorney General's office, the AKC, the BBB in Cleveland, and contacted a private attorney did she do the paperwork, and may I add that the AKC went to her home for a site visit on July 15th. Why did I continue to seek this AKC accreditation? Because if she is selling poodles without papers, it would have been a much lower asking price but when I give someone $2500 for an AKC puppy, I want it to be what I paid for, period. We did not get him for breeding purposes, in fact, he was neutered soon after we got him. Roberta Katona, even though she sent several texts to our daughter, at one point she told our attorney, that she had no idea who WE were. She said she sold a puppy to our daughter, Christina, but had no idea who we were. She had our name and address and it would not have mattered in whose name the registration papers were made out. When she found out that we checked with AKC regarding her kennel, she texted us and wrote, "I am not going to be threatened." AKC later said she told them that she registers her litters quarterly. I just wonder why she never said that to us but continued to lie. At one point she replied to my daughter when my daughter asked again in a text when the receipt and papers would arrive, she said, "Tomorrow." She KNEW she had not applied for the paperwork at AKC. Another lie. I do not recommend this breeder, Roberta Katona of Grand River Poodles in Perry, Ohio. She comes across on her web page and in person, as a very kind, honest person but that has not been our impression. As a footnote, I will say that we love the puppy. He is happy and smart and spoiled. Please, do your research before you buy from Ms Katona. There are other, good, honest breeders out there. We have not found her to be one of them.

May I also add, that her Vet's office said that she brought in "several" litters the one day that our puppy was seen there. Just an FYI.
