Dan.com has been extremely frustrating with their customer support. My domains have been relisted repeatedly by sellers without my knowledge or permission. When I ask to have the sales listings removed, customer support has been slow to respond. Instead of immediately removing the "rogue" listings and asking those sellers to verify ownership, they seem to put the burden on the actual domain owner to prove it. And that's the case even if you aren't a Dan customer. One seller account has repeatedly relisted my domains without permission. And is still apparently very active with them.
This is very sad to see that still a seller on Dan.com does not have to prove they actually own a domain in order to post a listing. Domain frontrunning is a concern on Dan.com
Credibility. To have it and to let people believe you have it.
I was super scared of buying on your platform. Did a Google search. Is Dan.com legit?
In spite of positive results was reluctant to go ahead with the purchase. Ultimately it was like a gamble in my mind and I bought the domain.
So happy that it was transferred to my account within 24 hrs and I had it running in that time.
You guys are fantastic. Do something about your image or visibility. It's simply non existent.
Anyway thanks again
An authorization code they wanted from me and that was given by me to them. I got it to them in a timely manner. Yet after auth code given apparently error by buyer to transfer out as they claim. If the case ought to have contacted the registry (ICANN) or the registrar (Epik) to see why not going through. Dan didn't so as to even the slightest bit try. Sheer laziness and incompetency by part of their transfer specialists, namely Carla Lee. Above all the fact of the matter is DAN.com cancelled my transaction, thereby backed out of an agreement. Which in doing so cost me a sale, 99$ profit. Even though they solely at fault and cost me dearly, then the audacity by this Carla Lee person to now say: "removed your profile from our platform". To all domain investors using Dan, be leery on who you do business with. Dan could do this to you too.
I tried purchasing a domain from them on a Friday morning PT. I emailed, and submitted a screenshot of my wire transactions on their platform and called their support team. The team member told me that their payments team was in Europe and was unable to verify the transaction until Monday.
Later I wake up at 5am to call them on Monday on both US/Europe hours. I find out the domain is expired but still listed on their marketplace. They sent over a list of transfer instructions that did not include transferring to my registrar, and involved creating a new registrar account. I message them and call them to inquire if they can send to my registrar during business hours in both the United States and Europe. They tell me they cannot connect me to a transfer team member by phone or live chat.
Essentially - you can not speak w any actually useful member of their team by live chat or phone. Horrible escrow service with terrible support and high fees.
I am writing to bring to your attention to several issues I have encountered with a recent transaction facilitated through Dan.com.
Unfair Negotiation Tactics: The seller changed the agreed-upon price multiple times after initial acceptance and payment, which I believe is a violation of fair negotiation practices and your Terms of Use, specifically Section 5.3.11, which prohibits "false or deceptive language." After I made the payment, the seller refused to complete the transaction, that the price would be higher.
I believe the seller's actions and the handling of this transaction may have violated your Terms of Use. Specifically, the seller's actions constitute "false, abusive or fraudulent activity" as outlined in Section 5.3.12 of your Terms of Use.
Furthermore, the seller's messages to the Dan.com team, which contradict my (Buyer's) understanding and agreements, suggest potential deceptive practices. For instance, the seller's request to cancel the transaction due to a "technical glitch" and their claim of a misunderstanding about the price agreement are inconsistent with our separate correspondence.
Dan.com customer service was unwilling or unable to support the buyer in this transaction. Though they were willing to refund the initial payment, it was not the remedy that aligned with fair negotiation nor the so-called legally binding agreement.
I have been working with the domain marketplace platform for two years. Excellent and usable service with a simple interface. There are sales, which are accompanied by professional specialists. I recommend it for consideration as a platform for selling web domain names.
When people work hard on getting a trademark and spend money doing so. Dan.com is allowing you to buy there domain name and sell it back to them for ridiculous price. This people are criminals and so are the cyber squatters waiting to purchase your domain after you start your trademark application. Why not create a site that can actually help people this why the world is the way it is today. Please do not help these criminals!
Dan is a user friendly and trustworthy market place. The support team are very human and friendly and always ready to help.
Always contact them if you find anything difficult about their services.
This I did in all my dealings with them, and I can give them 7 stars if there's anything above 5
I listed numerous domains, all of which are 6 figure names and never received a single offer for 3 years.
The only sales were those where I brought the buyer.
Selling through them is a nightmare.
They will lie and cheat at every opportunity.
I believe it's owned a a group of Nazis.
I have multiple emails corroborating everything that I am saying.
Feel free to contact me and I am more than happy to share them.
Do yourself a favor.
Stay away from them.
It will save you money and lots of heartache.
Howard
They steal your domain name and then try to sell it. If you happen to visit the page too often, the price will only increase. Do not work with these guys, instead choose another domain name please.
