My daughters friend borrowed our G9 and it came back not working. She said she didn't drop it or anything and that it just wouldn't turn on. Doing some research my husband learned of a screw that often comes loose in this models and short circuits something. The camera then loses power.
We had it repaired through Cameras And Parts. They confirmed it was that loose screw problem. They fixed it and corrected the screws so it won't happen to ours again. For $89, we were thrilled with the wonderful service.
If it matters, ours was about 4 years before it had the problem.
I couldn't be happier with the work that Cameras and Parts did on our Canon camera. The lens was jammed and and would not close up back in the camera. We thought we were facing another expensive camera purchase. Thankfully, someone on another website recommended Cameras and Parts because they experienced the very same problem. I have a canon power shot As720 IS and for many years. I have a brand new camera as tho I just bought it. Had a very minor problem when it was returned and they jumped on it immediately over the phone and now---no problem.

I had a lens focusing problem with my Canon IS850. I thought that it would be expensive to fix. I found the http://www.camerasandparts.com/ website. I left a message and they called back. I remember we talked about a bunch of stuff, Football, BBQ, the weather and my camera. I followed the instructions on the website and sent the camera in. I thought that it would be a couple of weeks. NOPE. I got a call 3 days later saying they found the problem and can fix it. 2 days later that I had my camera back. That was 6/3/2015. It is now November 17,2016 and the camera still works great. I did notice that the battery life is much better and the screen controls are different, much easier to use. "They" offered me a $10.00 discount so this whole venture cost me $79.00. http://www.camerasandparts.com/ exceeded my expectations 10 fold. I would not hesitate to use them again.

My faithful little Canon PowerShot SD850 finally died after about 7 years' use, as the lens wouldn't retract and I kept getting error messages. I found your website after Canon told me that there were repair companies out there who might not be very reliable. For a very reasonable sum and in a timely manner, my camera is now back home and working just fine. Even though my husband is a semi-professional photographer with all the top of the line equipment, I prefer my little camera. Your staff handled the work very professionally. Thank you ever so much!

We've tried calling you at the 907 area code that you provided which shows to be Alaska. The phone however seems to ring as an international number and nobody answers. The unit was shipped in from Belize so we assume that is where your Alaska area code is forwarding to. You provided a return address in Houston for the unit. We did receive the unit along with the check which was enclosed with the camera. We have not yet deposited the check. The unit requires a part which is special order. Once the part arrives for your camera, it was to be completed and looked after for you. It seems you have some concerns as you are not receiving a response. Please know, we feel we have made more than a reasonable effort to contact you by email and phone to no avail. With you being out of the country as it seems (based on the way the Alaska number ringing as international and the unit being sent from Belize where we can't seem to reach you), not to mention it seems you have this Spam Blocker on your email as we get an auto response that our emails are being blocked, perhaps it is best to send the unit back unrepaired. In doing so, we of course will not deposit your payment (your check would be returned with the camera) and we'll gladly look after the Return Priority Shipping / Handling to the Houston address as you provided, no problem there at all. If you'd like to email us, perhaps you have an alternate email address you can communicate with us through or maybe there's a way to unblock our emails through this RMail Spam Blocker you are using. If we don't hear back, rest assured we'll send the unit back unrepaired to the Houston address as provided. Your check will be returned with the unit as nothing would be owed for any Service / Repair at that point.
