I think we need to close this website down how can we petition to get it closed? Every time I've been disappointed left feeling worse and read others have had the same experience. So does anyone know how to report them get them shut down?

Do not contact Beyond Blue expecting counselling, regardless of what their website says. Here's what happened when I followed the links to call a 'counsellor' -
* Immediately inundated with useless information about the organisation by an automated voice
* Sat on hold for 10 minutes
* 'Counselor' picked up and asked a bunch of demography questions which could only be of use to Beyond Blue, nothing to do with me and my problems
* Allowed me to cry down the phone and tell them the struggles I've been having and then, barely acknowledging my situation and the real issue I had called to seek support for, asked me what services I wanted referring to
* When I said 'I thought this was counselling' and 'If it's not counselling, this isn't what I need' the person ended the call

You will not receive mental health support by calling Beyond Blue. You might receive referrals to mental health services. That is what they offer, NOT mental health support. This is extremely dangerous for people who are in crisis and seeking immediate mental health support and assistance. Do not call Beyond Blue for this. Call Lifeline.

I HAD TO WAIT 14 HOURS FOR THIS STUPID CHAT TO BEGIN AND IT WAS PAINFUL AS I HAD MY KNIFE RIGHT NEXT TO ME WHEN I WANTED TO SEEK FROM A PROFFESSIONAL BUT THOSE DO NOT EXIST ON BEYOND USELESS BUT I HAD TO THREATHEN THIS GUY TO A FIGHT CAUSE HE WOULDN'T HELP AT ALL

I have never had anyone hang the phone before on me at 9:15am on 11 September 2023.

This unfortunately led to me not being able to talk and feeling ashamed and kicked out. So when I rang again I couldn't talk after they answered the phone for the fear of talking to the same person that just kicked me out without notice and making me feel worthless.

I think they need more help than me
I hope they can pay them more to be able to say: I'm being paid for this.

Beyond Interested

I utilised Beyond Blue as a means of support for a very difficult time I was going through. It's hard to properly articulate what you want to say, especially when the situation is already pretty bad, let alone when you have been tasked with writing a summary of how your life has impacted you.

Not only did Beyond Blue take no interest in what I was saying, but they actively cut communications with me. I understood that there was a time limit for me to write everything (though I don't know why), but I hadn't actually reached the end of my time before I was ejected.

Now, unless I have bad perception, I was respectful, polite and really making an effort to open up about how I was feeling; something that I'm not good at. Yet, I apparently had to be a speed-typer as well.

Somehow, after that dismal mess, I managed to work up the courage to try again. Not only was this new person, once again, pressuring me to write within some contrived allotted time - like I was back in secondary school - but presented themselves as a very short - and agitated - individual. The responses I got back from this person were sarcastic and presumptive. That is, when they weren't being cold and mechanical.

It is safe to assume that this was a far less than ideal - or expected - situation. I not only received less than the bare minimum support, but my mental health - and self esteem - have actively diminished as a result of this.

At the risk of sounding drastic, I find irony in the fact that, for a mental health support company, talking to Beyond Blue sure made me want to commit suicide afterwards.

I would strongly recommend against anyone using their 'services'. You have a better chance of feeling supported just by dealing with your issues/ problems/ disorders yourself.

What's the point?

Reached out to beyond blue cause I just needed to vent and get some help with a situation I'm in. But all they did was ask me to do their 5 question survey, sent me a link to headspace and that was it. They totally ignored my message of me expressing my feelings and the situation I'm in. It was so useless. How they call themselves a mental health organisation I don't even know.

I was at my lowest and called them for help. It resulted in 8 Qld police breaking into my home and forcing me into a police vehicle and taken to a hospital. I was then forced to stand against a wall for 3 hours by 2 security guards. That isn't their doing I know, but beyond blue escalated things big time. I was down, not dangerous

Data collection agency

They record your calls, and collect data. After a 45 minute call explaining my grief over multiple issues at the time, which the counselor sat through, the response was 'you should take a day off, you've been through alot' and then ended the call as it had ben an hour.

Felt worse after, greedy psychologist pushed their business and don't actually ask a question of have you thought of seeing a psychologist and not asking,have you thought of getting COUNSELLING which you can receive form a counsellor at a much cheaper rate and usually a much better service, Avoid beyond Blue at all costs

I'm in a difficult relationship and the so called counsellor, agent, "Darren" said to me "We can't really solve people's circumstances".
So the government is throwing extraordinary resources into a useless organisation who all they do, is provide other useless "organisations" that could have googled myself or parrot back to me what I have already said?
If I was suicidal, this would have tipped me over the edge.
This came after the previous "counsellor" abruptly ended the chat because I told her that her suggestions weren't helping.
Avoid Beyond Blue - it is of absolutely no help whatsoever. None. They have no interest in you as a person. All they care about is having the "volunteering" experience with Beyond Blue on their CV.
There is no care, no willingness to help you find a solution, and you will walk away feeling even worse than you did before you called them.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.
A complete waste of space.

Friend has been fighting and dealing with mental health and suicide ideation for a long time, After a 3 hour wait time for beyond blue, 20 minutes of texting the person BLOCKED him from the chat when he was reaching out for help.

Unprofessional, they act under false pretences, discriminatory, only looking for faults, NO service whatsover provided, this is a dishonest mob not of any value, only there to attack you and shut you down. This is how they behave when you call after lecture from them, about their wants and views of how they think callers are. They have no communication skills, only talk at you. Shut them down as no use to anybody. We find their promotions false and misleading.

It's 3:40am, and I'm so frustrated and ANGRY at the generic responses to my open hearted LAST RESORT search after being screwed by other "Organisations". According to their survey, I'm in a SEVERE state (NO $#*!!), so I went to an online call with someone who can't/won't/isn't allowed to give half a $#*!.
I CBF going into detail, but I have less faith in being helped, and NO faith in getting any direction for the SEVERE help I've been crying out for! F&*$ERS

Luckily I called when I was not unsafe. First they asked lots of questions that only made me feellike I was being interviewed not councelled or consoled. They werre condescending and dismissive, no attempt to speak to me about how I was feeling. Then gave me 2 phone numbers, the first as disconnected, turns out it was a 1800 number for depression in the UK, the second was headspace which only help for young people, this is despite giving her my date of birth which shows Im aged over 50, AND my mention of menopause triggering my mental health.They will refer you anywhere, whether it is helpful, relevant of not and are not trained in mental health or common sense and have zero care factor.

Beyond Useless
October 20, 2022

I have sought help from this site before. Initially it was great. I do not know what has happened but the site is almost impossible to navigate and I have decided not to waste my time anymore. No idea how people cope really as it is all a sham designed to make people feel they are cared about when they are not. Goodbye.

The lady said she would txt me support never did multiple times ive tried beyond blue everytime they have offered fake help or none at all. By fake i mean a number to a service that was shut-down. And last time said they will txt me support i received no txt. Was a waste of time. Waste of tax payers money.
