How is it that Western Union in Foodland Waimea on the big island of Hawaii does not have money orders it's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of that's what they do and they don't even know when they're going to get anymore
I initiated a $500 transfer to my wife on January 30 using the Western Union Android app. The app estimated the transfer would take 0 to 4 days. However, after 8 days (on February 7), the transfer still hadn't been completed, so I canceled it. The app then stated that the refund could take up to 7 days.
It's now been weeks, and I still haven't received my money. I've contacted Western Union multiple times through Live Chat, phone, and email, but I've never received a sensible reply from anyone who seems to understand the issue. Despite escalating my case, they've never followed up, and they've failed to call me back as promised multiple times.
At this point, it feels like Western Union has stolen $500 from me. Their customer service is utterly incompetent, and their app is unreliable. I strongly advise everyone to avoid Western Union. If you need to send money, always use a credit or debit card so you have the option to dispute the charge if something goes wrong.
Save yourself the headache and stay far away from this company.

I will never never use Western Union again. I put a stop pay on a money order in June and still have not gotten my money back. Very unworthy company. Every time I call they tell me to wait a couple more days. It has 3 months. I wouldn't pick a star at all if I didn't have to.
I tried to send money to the UAE several times using the Western Union website. It didn't work. I had someone from Western Union on the phone for 45 minutes. They couldn't solve the problem. I tried their mobile app. It didn't work. I went to one of their agencies (La Banque Postale, Cr Roosevelt, Lyon, France). I waited in line for about 45 minutes, watching the one and only employee choosing which clients to help first. When it was eventually my turn, he tried to get me to use the app again. I explained it didn't work, I wanted to work with a real person. He said he had to help the other clients first. I waited while he helped the person behind me. Then he eventually said ok come with me to the machine. On the way there, he stopped to help yet another customer send a parcel. By that stage I'd had enough and walked out of the post office.

Western Union just makes up the rules as they go along. I sent a transfer to the same recipient as I have done several times in the past. I paid for an *instant* transfer and it stays "In Progress" status undelivered. Chat support blatantly lies and refuses to assist claiming it has to be held until the 16th when the receipt *clearly* says the 15th. Even worse it IS already the 16th in the recipient's country and they still refuse to release it for no apparent reason.
To echo what many have said, tried to send money to Malaysia. Been held up for a week and still in progress. Tried calling them, told me that it was my bank. Called bank, bank said it's already been cleared and money had already been credited from my account. So told me to call WU to find out what was going on. Back and forth so many times and bank can't do anything because the money is now with WU. Until now I'm still waiting to hear back where my money is from WU. STAY AWAY from this company!

I had two fraud transaction, I had to contact thousands of times the Customer support, escalating tickets, sending email to spoof and nothing. They never came back to me and each agent told me a different thing.
I don't recommend it at all, and I am wondering how can this website be legal if you have no safety and proper checks.
