WW keeps changing their model when the original one worked best. 0 point foods (aside from leafy green vegetables) eventually translates into 0 calories in people's minds and there is no such thing. The new plan is particularly ineffective for this who follow a plat based diet. Beans, legumes, etc are very carbohydrate and calorie dense. Allowing this to be a zero point food is not the same as meat products.
0 points also leads to over consumption of the foods in this category and underconsumption of foods that are healthy because they come with a high point price tag.
The program has gone down hill. I've tried it a number of times after each change and it's never been as effective as the original format. This last go - I lost no weight at all. If you are plant based and over 50, use my fitness pal. Track your calories make sure you hit your macros to ensure a healthy balance of foods. You and your bank account will be glad you did.
I have eye problems due to autoimmune disease. Have been a lifetime member for about 30 years. The last 4 years with them closing so many workshops can no longer get there. Had to cancel my membership. Thanks for nothing.
I signed up for 3 months printings rate to use the app...I didn't love it. The free calorie tracking app I already had was better. So I assumed it would cancel after 3 months... but no I just found out they have been auto charging my credit card for 17 months. I am not saying their services are bad, I would just recommend being very diligent about canceling when you are not using it bc they will charge you forever. It says try for free but I would be careful about adding any payment info.
This company has a very old and good reputation, however, they put you on auto-renew, and, when it renews, it is typically for 3 to 6 mo at a time. You cannot get a refund once they start billing, or re-start billing. They do not send notifications that they are re-booting your billing, either. In order to cancel, they make it as difficult a process as possible.
As far as the "new" program goes: The points system makes little sense and I found it to be not effective. You can think of calories as "points" just as well as the WW system and keep control of your weight in a much more efficient manner-no charge.
I cancelled my membership and it said it was cancelled but a month later and it's ony bank statement again! Called customer service and was told it will be a year before they stop billing which is BS! Never signing up for ww again!
I'm extremely disappointed today with the customer service I had received on the 24/7 chat on the app. I was trying to resolve a billing issue when I was told there was nothing that can be done and was hung up on. I've had a WW membership for many years and had never been treated like this. I had tried to cancel my membership last month only to be tricked into saying you hate to see me go and would receive a month for free, only to be charged the same day I tried to cancel. I'm on disability and on a very fixed income where I have to plan out to the penny every month. Now due to the $24.60 charge on my credit card I will be unable to play in full and get hit with interest charges. I feel like I was lied to and deceived but most of all just disappointed. I had planned to sign up again at the first of the year when I could budget it but will be looking for different options now as I will never come back to WW. I will make sure to let everyone know how WW treats their customers.
Although I see some benefit, there are some areas where they drop the ball. They push to sell their processed food products which overall are not a healthy option vs a whole food. Secondly they promoted a free 60 day trail. Within the 60 days I realized this was not a good fit so I requested to cancel the membership. The app and the website was not user friendly, I had better results using my fitness pal. Lastly, what they fail to clearly communicate is in the small fine print you are still responsible to pay the 60 days. So I cancelled in May, due to pay June but still had pay for July and August although I am no longer a member. Please watch out for this. Unfortunately, it's a bait and switch, they bait you with free, it's not truly a free 60 day trail.
WW will continue to charge you after you cancel. I canceled my membership in February, we are now in July & they continue to try & charge me. Ive had to contact my CC provider to tell them & provide emails proving I canceled my service earlier this year within guidelines of WW terms & conditions. The scale they offer is only compatible with certain phones, it was not compatible with mine (Samsung Galaxy note9), they need to be more specific on that & what phones their products are compatible with.
Food options are limited and I believe their point system is way off! My daily calorie intake was 500 to lose 20 lbs in 9 months for my wedding. I weighed 160.
On December 13,2023, I enrolled in what I thought was a three-month subscription with Weight Watchers. However, I later discovered I had been enrolled in a full one-year subscription. To make matters worse, I was prescribed medication (Metformin) for weight loss, which caused adverse reactions. When I called on January 5,2024, to cancel the subscription once the three-month contract ended, I was told I had enrolled for a twelve-month contract instead. Despite my repeated insistence that I had only signed up for three months, the customer service representative told me to review my receipt and transferred me to a Watchers representative named Amy from the resolution department. I informed Amy I received several emails welcoming me to the Weight Watchers program but did not receive a receipt or contract. Amy denied me a copy of the receipt. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, my request was declined. I am disappointed by the lack of transparency.
Do not sign up for this program because they will not let you cancel. I have broken my leg and they will not let me out of the program. I am no longer able to bear weight on my leg until it heals so I cannot weigh myself. There is no point in doing the program if I cannot follow the food rules or weigh myself, but they don't care. I am in a rehab program, so I am obligated to eat their food. I can't go to the grocery store. And they will not let me out. Please do not sign up please
