I just created an account and was immediately disabled. I received an email and this is the explanation:
"In accordance with the Twilio Terms of Service, we have temporarily suspended your account as it came up in a recent security audit of our system.
We'll need your help to complete a review of this account and determine if reactivation is possible. Incomplete or missing answers to the following questions will result in delay of this process."
They proceed to require me to explain a very detailed business description, our processes from clients booking to service, as well as our privacy policy. All while providing links, screenshots and scans to prove each part of it.
I have immediately responded with a very detailed response per the requested descriptions and items. Will update once I hear back from them.
More and more apps are using sms text messaging to cell phones as a way to add functionality to a service or platform. Their prices are so very reasonable and I can see many developers using this soon. I was working on an app that sends a warning to a users cell phone when the freezer temperature drops below a certain threshold ( important for freezing vaccines and other medical storage) and having that feature is something that would make the app 100X more useful. Adding that feature using this api is easy and cheap and it is just a matter of time before this really catches on. Take a look at their prices too... dirt cheap.

SIP Trunking from Twilio does not work with Asterisk based endpoint systems... in short, pretty much any IP PBX. Support in this issue was among the worst support experiences I have had. Canceled Twilio SIP trunk account.
Don't love it, but don't hate it either, it has its perks when implementing through a software, is not complicated but the solution setup can be messy
They used to be good now better options to chose from. Their pricing is high and APIs need major changes
It is an okay platform not bad not good. However too expensive and complicated to setup. They also started calling after signup which was a turn off.
