Great program saves me from bad Spotify experience

Last month I canceled my Spotify Premium subscription since I've been restricted. I was thinking if I can burn some Spotify songs to a CD as a birthday gift to my friend. And I found it is impossible to do that. And I also found that I couldn't use Spotify songs in my video project, too. Why would I pay for $9.99/month if I can't use my downloaded songs for other purposes?
