Make sure you do your research before signing a contract with Public Storage. We moved out of the country and needed a 10x25 space to hold some of our household goods for up to 7 years. Public Storage advertised the lowest rates so we signed a contract. After only 3 years, we had to take a trip back to the US to move our goods to another storage facility (Storage Q in Festus, Missouri owned by a nice couple). It was well worth it. What we learned about Public Storage (and other corporate-owned storage facilities) is that they hook you in at a low rate and begin raising rates steadily, thinking that people would rather pay the higher rate than go to the trouble to move again. Our rate started at $138 per month and after three years, we were paying $421 per month (a 205% increase). Even after the first year our price rose by 54% (which is way beyond the cost of inflation). I called them several times and they said that I could rent one of their other storage units at a lower price and move my goods to that one - which obviously is an absurd thing to have to do. By policy, they allow you to delay one increase, only one time for three months. After that, they do not negotiate nor do they allow you to lock in at a fixed rate. Had I kept the unit for seven years, I would have ended up paying the price of a two-bedroom apartment. Public Storage is unscrupulous. Just doing 5-minutes of research you will find many similar stories. So my recommendation is that if you need a rental unit for more than 6 months, do not rent from Public Storage.
I'm glad to find that I'm not the only one to realize the harmful practices of this organization. Lack of empathy, deceptive advertising, and abusive practices like charging customers a full month when due to their own arbitrary policies is not possible to get access to their facilities after hours. The 3 hours of service most expensive of my life. Customer service unreachable after 3 hours wait. When they finally answer, they'll treat you as a no one.
Definitely, won't recommend such a service to be the provider of your storage needs.
Help yourself and avoid headaches when working with them. They are not a decent business.
Once again James, at the Johnson Creek location, has been rude and argumentative. As a paying customer I find his attitude unacceptable. He has zero people skills and should not be interacting with customers.
Unless you are planning on using their services for six months or less, this is absolutely not the place for you. Their staff at the facility were very polite and professional but the organization is both unethical and non responsive. Once you exceed 6 months expect significant increases in monthly rent above their current referenced website rates and if you bring this issue to their "WeCare" department, instead of responding to the issue I received a second notification of another price increase which will go into effect in the following month.
The above is not just my opinion. There is actually a California code: BCP ******. 2 - Business and Professional Code - Charging an amount greater than the current price.
Public Storage Store #***** Facility Manager Pricilla is a true professional in every sense of the word, friendly, attentive and just a darn good human being. Restores my faith in customer service. Keep up the outstanding work. Public Storage Corporate should emulate her leadership to make the company stronger. Thank you Pricilla for everything!
I was with Pubic Storage for years and do you think I was rewarded for being a good customer? Only with rates that are like bring held up by gunpoint. I'm paying 125 now for what these clowns were up to 350! Every February expect high increases by these common thieves. I wish these common criminals never bought the property off Shurgood. Avoid PS like the plague if you enjoy keeping your money like me.
We moved up to help with Mom so our stuff was in storage for a couple years. We recently moved our things out, and Beth at the Hixson 153 location was so helpful and had great advice for us.

I am writing this review of an employee at public storage #*****. We have had storage units for years at this location. Delores is the kindest, most efficient person i have ever met. Moving items in and out of the units is time consuming and an arduos and stressful task. Many times delores has made our efforts easier with her advice. Public storage is fortunate to have delores as an employee.
I rented from Public Storage in Joliet, IL. First of all, they advertise that you get the first month free, which is a lie. It's only for certain locations, even though they don't advertise this. I wasn't able to remove my belongings at the end of the month because I had just closed on a new home. I removed my belongings from the bin on the 2nd of the following month. They will charge you for a full month, no matter if your belongings are there for 2 days out of a month. When I got my furniture home and examined it, I noticed that there were mice droppings in the bottom of my loveseat. I contacted Customer Service and spoke with a supervisor who was no help at all. Do not rent from these people! I will never rent from them again.
His storage is designed for you to lose your things. They can raise your rent at any time other storage raise your rent once a year this storage can raise your rent 3to4 times or more a year. They say it's because of the market but yet if you look, they have storage of the same size for cheaper rates there is nothing you can say to them for them to help you they gonna say you signed the papers. This company have no compassion for people who are going through a hard time I would suggest going to extra space storage who only raise your rent once after the Covid I lost my job and my client that let me too get this storage place with everything I have but every that let me too get this storage place I started out at $388 now I am at I started out at 388 now I am at $558 if you don't want to lose your memories, don't go to this place
Answer: No I cannot give any positives for using public storage
Answer: It was close to my new place and it had a good quote, and $1 move in. But none of those prices were implemented
Answer: It is sometimes easy to get a hold of the monager at the actual stor but getting corporate to answer or return calls is an ABSOLUTE NEVER!
