The M-audio range of midi keyboards is probably the best solution if you want to create your own mini studio for recordings.
I had an Axiom 49 back in the day with an abundance of knobs and faders. It even had a pad where I assigned a drum machine for more convenience.
They also offer some audio interfaces that are of a great quality.

Excellent Sound Reproduction

After a pair of Bose computer speakers kicked the bucket, I stepped up to a pair of AV 30s. What a difference across a wide variety of musical interests! Certainly, the mids and highs are superior to anything else in the price range. Take a look, as you won't be sorry!
