Unlike regular stores, J-List doesn't list when an item is out of stock on their website. It's really a hit and miss. They tell you AFTER you placed your order they no longer have it, mostly likely after you've paid. Communication is poor, and shipping is really screwed up. I've had wrong items shipped to my house, and really delayed shipping. You're better off looking at other sites like ebay or using proxy buyers, it'd probably be cheaper too.
I am a bit concerned right now, since they said their gateway failed on two different cards.
Their support is just an FAQ, so non-existent. How can you be profitable if you can't actually take any orders? If this is a scam company they won't last past the first attempt to charge my cards.
I would gave them 0 stars if possible. They're the worst site I've ever "purchased" or at least I paid them and they stole my money. Never got any kind of refund for an item they didn't send, not even an answer. They ignored my emails asking for my figure for more than 2 years!
When they migrated to another kind of database, all the info got conveniently lost. I sent the emails with the order confirmation number and payment but they never replied. They're thieves, there's not other word to describe that kind of people.
Avoid purchasing with them. There are plenny other sites better in all senses.
Very nice, safe and discrete packages. Fast shipping. Prices are not above average. Often make discounts and promos.
But what is disappointing me is their attitude towards adult items. Jlist promote themselves over the web as genuine, native Japanese store, but many of adult toys are made in China! And this may be written on the product page or may be not! Why should I pay double price for Chinese items when they can be bought somewhere x2 cheaper? That is very strange and poor decision for the store pretending to be the website for the Japan lovers. Misleading.
This site is pretty good. They have many good items that you can get from japan. I have ordered items from there a couple of times. I like their idea of j-list points where you can save up enough points and get discounts. They also have many good anime and adult stuff there too. But sometimes the shipping rates can be a bit above average. Overall this is a good sites to buys stuff.
I love this site, as the owner himself is a big anime fan. He can relate to his customers and give them amazing experience. He's actually went above and beyond for an order that was simply a mistake, I was sent the same figure when I needed two separate ones. He had responded to my email right away and got his staff to email me to correct my order. I will never forget the amazing experience I've had with this online store. Where can you find an online store that has special items that you can only find in Japan.
On August 30 I placed an order for two books that were displayed as being in stock. After confirming the order I was told that they were actually on back order and I would have to wait until they came in.
The ended up shipping on October 11. It is now exactly 4 weeks since my order shipped and it has not arrived yet. My address is correct and I have also been to my local post office to see if it has mistakenly been dispatched there.
I have been in contact with J-List who have not been helpful at all. All I have been told is if my order ends up back with them they will get in touch with me. I am never going to place an order with this site again.
I have ordered twice from J-list. On the first occasion, one item out of the shipment was missing and (without notifying me) replaced in the shipping box with a completely different (and enigmatic) food product. I never could figure out what the hell that thing was. What was especially bad was that I was not forewarned or simply notified then refunded for that one missing item. On the second occasion, five items were missing from the shipment. Adding to that, the missing items were no longer listed on their website. Even further, one food item received had expired before I had even placed the order, and J-list did not respond to my concerns regarding that. Great looking website. Abysmal customer service. EFFECTIVELY, THEY JUST DON'T CARE.
You take your chances with Jlist.
Lots of great items, many out of stock. They won't tell you this. They just say it shipped and then, if you complain enough, refund your purchase price but not your shipping. Or they'll say that YOU left off your own streen name and ask for additional shipping.
JLIST- Is Bullsh*t. Yea they got some good stuff on there website, but their "CSR" are ignorant, and never respond to you, they also take 1-2 weeks to process you're damn order.
I heard the "Owner" Peter Payne is a stuck up snob, and he if does not like where you live, USA etc, he will hold your orders for a long time.
BEWARE!
