My first Forerunner 935 failed after less than 2 years. After much back and forth and several weeks waiting without a watch it was replaced under warranty.
The 2nd one has also failed after a bit more than a year. Same issues with the altimeter (which seems to be an issue for many people) and watch shutdown during saving activities and losing all data.
Garmin won't replace this one as it's been more than 2 years since the original purchase. If you want something that lasts a bit longer, look elsewhere
I started getting bombarded with Garmin ads/emails. Every day I get at least 9 of them. I even blocked through Google. Didn't do any good as always! I have gotten on the Garmin website to unsubscribe, but there is literally NO unsubscribe button anywhere. So, I called them (that was a joke in itself!) After realizing there is no customer service number, I finally got through to a woman and told her of the issue of getting bombarded with their ads/emails, she told me to click on the unsubscribe at the bottom. I told her in all the emails I get, there is NOT an unsubscribe button to click on. SHE HUNG UP ON ME!
Watch broke after 2 years, straight after the warranty ended. Display faded and watch showing wrong time. I have paid £160 for the watch and expected it to last quite few years. Garmin said they can replace my watch if I have paid another £78. I'm alright, thanks. Sent an email expressing my disappointment with no response. Will be looking into other brands that offer better products and customer service.
Any Garmin device is irreplaceable for all hikers and people who enjoy outdoor recreation far from big cities.
You can buy the most affordable piece of smart watch or any other equipment and be confident that you are in good hands in any type of extreme situation.
I am 100% sure that Garmin saved a lot of lives.
I have been running the Astro and Alpha dog tracking for years and linking it to base camp on my computer. Went to renew for another year and was told they no longer use Birdseye imagery. Was then told I could purchase some Topo card for my device that only shows the terrain. So we have went from a google earth imagery to some outdated terrain imagery in the year of 2023. Why would you go from being able to see actual buildings and fence rows to some outdated Topo Map. How stupid.
It's not the first time I have issues with Garmin products, But it's the most expensive I've owned. The gps garmin bmw navigator IV is useless and is not recognized by garmin express to make new updates. Garmin's customer service located on the other side of the world is simply helpless. After 15 days and over 20 emails they closed the case leaving me with expensive, broken GPS. Over all terrible products and helpless customer service.
I own a Garmin Fénix 7 solar sapphire, my 3rd Garmin watch.
The menu button is stuck.
I don't live in the US, so I organized and paid for a replacement while I was in vacation.
UPS did not deliver it.
I contacted support, and Luke told me he could not send another one until the first was received by them.
Result: I cannot get my watch fixed.
Next watch will not be Garmin.
Thanks Luke!
This is the worst piece of equipment I have ever purchased. It is not user friendly whatsoever. Impossible to figure out how to use it. Whoever designed this device should be fired. I give it a MINUS ZERO as a rating. When you buy an apple product, it is absolutely user friendly and you look forward to using it. This product, the GARMIN 840, you want to throw it in the garbage. It is also extremely complicated to find out how to even start it. Beyond ridiculous. Stay away from it!
Company is useless, watches are a waste of money, don't work well and nothing you can do about it. $279 down the drain on a Vivioactive 4S bought in August. You also can't review their products on their website. I guess that should have been a red flag, but I messed up and listened to reviews from magazines and other websites. Do not buy anything from them. Since you won't accept a PDF of my invoice I can't attach it below.
I have an old version of a portable Garmin GPS for my car that I use for my hikes as well.
I am so satisfied with this gadget that I don't even want to upgrade it to some newer version. I am used to it and regularly update the maps. I have saved so many tracking routes with it, and the precision of the maps is of the highest quality. It literally shows if you are a couple of metres away from the track. Hikers know what I am talking about and how hard it is to find a gadget that is so precise when it comes to marking the trekking routes.
As for traffic, I should waste no words. Garmin is years ahead of the other similar GPS software that are popular for this purpose.
I recommend Garmin to everyone out there looking for the best quality GPS gadget.
