Works great
October 21, 2020

I managed to get a good HP laptop from them and it has been working great. I have to say that I did my suspicions at first because we all do about online shops that we have never used. Then again I was getting a very important thing so that's why. It is an original and works great. I know I made the right choice.

I attempted to order some coronavirus safety protection items prior to an essential trip to the East Coast. Having selected all the items I needed online, I attempted to process the order electronically without success. The site was frozen. I then called Customer Service and talked to a reasonably nice guy who was, unfortunately, slow and without the usual resources(like knowing what to do to advance such a simple transaction). We laboriously went through the order manually; each stage inexplicably S-L-O-W.(I am currently waiting for him simply to type in my bank card number and feel like my feet have been encased in cement.) I will NEVER shop at Frys again. Can't trust a corporation that sells electronics but can't manage to maintain their own website.

I have a Fry's Foods close enough to me to be able to hear employees on the back dock.

I have not been in that location for around 6 months.

Fry's was my go to store for over a decade but after the CEO died suddenly the whole organization turned to crap.

The costs went up, quality went down and complaints went unheard as well as unheaded.

The Fry's app is a total cluster f*ck and isn't half as good as Safeways.

I spent 40 minutes with a manager trying to make a grocery list and at the end she had only three items on the list.

71 things in the list section but only 3 showed.

Who wants to deal with that?

I sure don't.

Substitutions
September 22, 2022

They did not send me the 10# of chicken, or the oats, or bread, or sour cream.
What did they substitute for them? String cheese, cottage cheese, 2 # of baby carrots, celery, peets coffee, frozen broccoli, etc. How in the world can you figure that out? They should just send what they have in your order and not do ANY substitutions unless they are at least in the same category. Also, when you try and explain to them what happened, they do nothing to rectify the situation. As a foot note, I don't even like celery, baby carrots or broccoli.

I really love the website because it is appealing. I wanted just one thing but I ended up buying way more and the best part is that everything that I bought was an original. They have not malfunctioned and make me regret ever getting them in the first place. The delivery time was just about right and so were the prices. It's A good electronic shop that I trust.

This is where I managed to get my laptop at a very discounted price. At first I may have thought that the discounted price meant that there were going to be some hidden agenda but I was surprised when I actually got a very good laptop. It all that I wanted. I now know that frys aint joking around with their prices.

Rude
March 19, 2024

Tried to buy medicine for my child. Manager would not let me without seeing child's ID. Was denied necessary health care for an OTC product that as a parent I could legally buy and showed my own ID but was denied because my child didn't have an ID

I liked their policies and environment but as soon GPU market went up. You could smell greediness. All their polices changed over night:"if you don't like, go somewhere else' no more Mr. Fry's nice guy.

Store are great for electronics, especially if you don't want to order from the online places.
Large selection of electronics ranging from laptops, tablets, PC; s, TV, sound systems, cameras etc.
When buying, mostly helpful sells people (some more knowledgeable than others), and check out fairly smooth.
The biggest draw back in my experience has always been with their customer service, if you have problems with a product and attempt to return it.

If you want interaction with people at a "brick and mortar store" when you buy electronics then not bad, if you know what you want, especially if building your own computer then Tiger Direct or New Egg would be better.

I go to this place for fun. At first I thought to be a great deal of a place, but then I realized that things would be re-stocked in the shelves after being returned on a "not-working" condition. You take the thing home, as expected it does not work. They increase their cash flow for a second and then you back back returning it for an exchange or money back. Because you are there you may get tempted with something else, and here we go again.

It is a strange concept, but online retailing is defeating this kind of places.

Last purchases have been okay, but stopped working soon. So that's why, coming back to this place is for fun.

Went to buy a TV, had to interrupt the clerks who were talking among themselves about their personal problems to get waited on. Of course the set I went in for "the last one was just bought by an online customer 5 minutes ago". Best they could do was point to an area of the store for me to look for another. Lousy customer service!
Note to Fry's: make your customer glad they came to spend money with you or they won't be back. I know I won't be. The three clerks standing around could not have cared less whether I bought something or not. I'll go where my money is appreciated.

After numerous phone calls to the company, someone finally called us back and said "The higher ups have decided that there is nothing that we can do & we will be giving no one any sort of satisfaction." We also informed them that they have another 32" tv on their site, and that we would accept that at the same price. They said "No." Don't use this site, because chances are, once they have your credit card info, they will just screw you over.

Shocking
September 8, 2018

As a as a public service, I would warn any consumer to stay away from FRYS.
Cannot find help, when you find an employee they are rude and do not know their products.
Do not waste your money with this company, any other electronics store is better.
Buyer be warned!

Purchased a 55" LED TV online and receiving a tracking number there was no place to actually track an order. After waiting 8 days from order dated, called customer service to see if they could help me track this order. Waited on the telephone for over 10 minutes an agent got on the phone and quickly stated her name which I could not understand. I asked for her to repeat her name and she was so abrupt and curt and said "customer service how can I help you". It was like I was troubling her. After all this, they gave me a different web site so I could go and track my order from another company. If they had put this information along with my tracking number, I would have avoided this rude representative. I will never use Frys.com again.

Poor Cutsomer care

One of the my friend who stays in CA told me about the horrible customer acre interaction. It is amazed to see that the company spend so much revenue in website promotion but not a penny in hiring an experienced customer service.

We ordered a tv from frys.com on black friday at 12:30 am. We received a confirmation email and then left the house to go shopping. We got an email SUNDAY saying that they were sorry, but they were going to be unable to fulfill our order. If we were to have known that our tv was not on it's way, like they said, then we would have bought another when we could have.
After numerous phone calls to the company, someone finally called us back and said "The higher ups have decided that there is nothing that we can do & we will be giving no one any sort of satisfaction." I found the best price for a hard drive on Fry's web site. I placed an order. Three days letter my credit union called asking if I was in California. I replied no. They were calling to notify me that someone was using my MasterCard Check Card around the L. A. area at various merchants. I checked my checking account and the charges started the same day that Fry's "fulfilled" my order.

I notified Frys Risk Management department. They sounded concerned, took the information and said Customer Relations who call me that day. No call. The next day I called Risk Management again. They said they got a message that both my home and cell number were disconnected. She said she would have Consumer Relations call that day. Still no call.

I have a reasonable belief that someone at Fry's Order Fulfillment center is "skimming" credit card numbers. I recommend that no one buy on line from Fry's.
They cannot keep your credit card data secure.

Avoid Fry's
April 11, 2015

Does not honor their adds. Tried to purchase item online from a email add frys had sent me but could not get the item to come up when clicked on. Emailed customer service and was told they were having a issue online but was trying to fix it, after several days I called customer service and was told that was a in-store add only. No where on the email add did it say in-store only. So I emailed customer service back again and was told what happened was they sold out so quick online they had to take them off. A different story each time. I don't think they are a very honest store and will be doing business elsewhere.

Overview

Fry's has garnered a mixed reputation among customers, with notable strengths in its product quality and extensive selection, particularly in electronics. Many customers appreciate the knowledgeable staff and the appealing website, which facilitates a positive shopping experience. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in the pharmacy and online support, where rudeness and inefficiency are frequently highlighted. Issues with order fulfillment, product returns, and website functionality contribute to a sense of frustration among shoppers. Overall, while Fry's offers valuable products, its customer service approach requires substantial improvement to enhance overall satisfaction.
