I ordered 4 one yard cuts of cotton prints. All were cut so badly that both edges were crooked and off by as much as 3 inches on each end. One piece was 3 inches short. Plus the quality was not very good. I've never had an experience like this before when ordering fabric.
I have been ordering from here for several years and have yet to find anything to be disappointed in. The customer service is great, prices are amazing, shipping time is WOW! The only time I have had to seek out other sites is only when a fabric I need is out of stock. Fabric.com is one of my top 2 go-to fabric websites. I cannot say enough good things about them
Far Too Much merchandise marked "unavailable for sale". Every amazon store is Void of any real practical management. Retail managers who know how to manage a store do not post what is "unavailable" for sale. Fabric.com is as poorly managed as amazon.com, user interface has gone to crap. All you get for your trouble of expressing how difficult it is to shop their ill managed stores are condescending, patronizing, placatory excuses and empty promises. FIX YOUR STORES.
I have ordered several swatches now and placed two large fabric orders. I was reticent to buy swatches at $3 a pop (+ shipping) and was shocked/disappointed to have spent that much for each 8" x 8" swatch -- it is especially difficult to determine what the fabric actually looks like if there is any sort of pattern. I ended up placing two separate orders for fabric (one at the beginning of January and another at the end of January). For each order, they notified me about a week after I placed my order to let me know that they were unable to fulfill part of my order. For the fabric I have received, they cut it very diagonally (not straight across), so it made it difficult for my sewing project and I ended up having to cut quite a bit off of the end. I have wasted way too much time and money with this company. There are better and more reliable companies out there.
I have a small business and buy lots of fabric from fabric.com. Sometimes it is not what I wanted and I returned it. I have UPS tracking and know when the orders are received back at the warehouse. However, I have been waiting for refunds, some as long as 8 weeks, on about 7 different returns. CS people are nice and say they escalate my issue to a manager, but I haven't recieved several refunds. Be careful when ordering... make sure it is the fabric you REALLY want, because you can return it but not necessarily get your money back.
Fabric.com constantly cancels items from my order the day after the order is placed. They offer to replace the item with something of equal or lesser value. They send the notice after the sale is over. How ridiculous.
Hi Sandra
I am sorry to hear about your negative experience with fabric.com. Please reach out to us at social@fabric.com with your order number so that we help to resolve.
I've been ordering for about 10 years for an annual project, and it's always been adequate--great prices, well represented products. This is the first year I got a short cut, and they were great about it--I got the replacement quickly, they did not question the mistake, they just made it right. And they were super nice about it too.
Hello

Their Friday sale is great-50% off prices for nice fabric-but shop knowing many items you buy will be out of stock when they finally start packing orders at least a week after you've paid. Every single order I have made has taken over a week before they send an email saying-sorry out of stock-then ask if you want a refund (duh?) then they refund weeks later (I emailed to ask where my hundreds of dollars in refunds are-response is refunds take 10-15 business days! Seriously?)
The last set of orders was over $200 in charges for out of stock items-emailed repeatedly for nearly 2 weeks with 1 single response finally stating the 10-15 business day policy-I filed a chargeback when I continued to receive to responses
Overall you can find great deals-it's really just if you are willing to deal with the most dismal customer service in existence
I am so disappointed in this company. We ordered 25 yards of a Shumachur fabric. When it came, we saw that the pattern was off by 2"-5" as it went down the roll, it got stretched and got worse. When we tried to get a refund, they saw the pictures of it being unmatched, yet they refused to refund us. I am infuriated, for the lack of accountability! We cannot make a curtains that have a matching grid pattern with this fabric. Also, the fabric stretches and is also of poor quality as if made in China.
I had bought 27 yards of canvas that had small defects throughout the roll. I didn't bother to call them since I had already cut, washed and was ironing it when I noticed the 1/16 to 1/8th inch defects. I wrote a bad review. Well I was shocked when Fabric.com reached out to me about my review. They checked the fabric on the floor and sure enough their's also had the defects. They have offered to send me new fabric or a refund. I was stunted! Awaiting my new fabric, customer service definitely are doing their best for me! Thank you! Hopefully the new fabric will be just fab!
Answer: Hawthorne Threads is great.
Answer: Im using them for almost a year but no more... they keep sending me 25 % discount almost every week to gain me back... NO WAY! Yeah i order atleast 2,000 each order... total loss for them... until now they still awe me money for the fleece fabric i order long time ago, when i order it it has 50 yards of it, after 10 days they gonna tell me its out of stock, waited for replacement, until now no replacement... i got a lot of horrible experience with this company,,, dirty fabric that looks like somebody use it to rub on their body... really really sucks!
Answer: My business is making curtains. I have dealt with this company for the past two years and I think the customer service department is doing the best they can with trying to making it look like the company has it together. They do not have it together at all. There is no excuse with the volume of business that they do that they cannot afford a system that can tell you immediately an item is out of stock. I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased fabric from this company only to learn three days later that it is not in stock. Then they hold the rest of your order for another three to four days after you answer an email telling them to continue to ship the rest of the order. I have had fabric arrive to me balled up in a box that they didn't even bother to put in a bag, I have had fabric with shoe prints on it in the middle of the bolt or pieces of fabric missing from a ten yard order that were cut out of the middle of the ten yards. I am trying to eventually not use this company at all anymore as they don't have a clue as to how to treat customers or just don't care. The only problem is they have run all of the mom and pop online fabric stores out of business with lower prices (this was maybe two years ago) and the smaller businesses couldn't keep up with them so they closed. Now that they have the market they have raised their prices because they have very little competition out there. If you leave a good review for this company you are one in a million that have had a pleasurable experience. Just because you bought from them once and don't have a complaint means nothing, consider yourself lucky.
Answer: It's a US website, so they'll take the money in US dollars, but if they take orders from Australia your bank or payment processor will have to convert the currency according to the current exchange rate and I think they may also charge a fee for doing this.
Answer: Thank you so much for your inquiry. Please feel free to send your contact information to edhr@fabric.com, and I would be more than happy to forward it to the appropriate people.
Answer: You would have been better off contacting fabric.com directly. It doesn't look like they even know about this website.
Answer: I would call or email them, including as much detail as you can... order #, what fabrics were ordered and approximately the time of the order. Have never had this happen to me from Fabric.com, have from another online site and was lucky that I got the help I needed. Good Luck.
Answer: As a customer of theirs, almost an ex-customer of theirs at this point, I can honestly say they have made absolutely no changes for the better in my case. They have paid absolutely no attention to any of my issues with them, which is why I'm about to become a former customer.
Fabric.com has a rating of 2 stars from 380 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Fabric.com most frequently mention customer service, business days and credit card. Fabric.com ranks 113th among Fabric sites.
