They were a great company many years ago and now they are terrible when it comes to payment.
I asked the money to be wired to my bank but then I get a 'sorry, I forgot and we issued a check!'
It took over two weeks to receive that check!
I went to this site because this is the one time I wish I was a millionaire. John Wayne has entertained me for years. My favorite movie was True Grit, with Kim Darby, Glenn Campbell and Robert Duvall. The hat he wore as Rooster Cogburn has a current bid of $30,000 I only wish I could bid at this auction. How cool would it be to have something that John Wayne wore in these movies. He was the all american great cowboy hero. Not only a hero but an outstanding actor. This site shows all the featured items that are being auctioned. There is a slide show showing the different vests he wore. Since he is the duke I find this amazing that they are letting the public buy his costumes. I thought that they would end up in a museum some where. I am sure they have a great turnout. Check out this site pilgrims. Really cool> http://entertainment.ha.com
I contacted Heritage Auction to sell my. Items. They stated. " They had the buyers. And help me reach my desired price." I sent my Items. When Heritage Auctions recr my items. They set the reserve at 25% of agreed price. I told them to send my items back. They refused. And sold my items. Leaving the seller with no item. And 25% of the price. There is a reason Heritage Auctions has so many bad reviews. Everyone Is saying same thing. "They were robbed" Take mine, And everyone on here advice. They will say anything to get your item. Once they do. It's like a teenage boy. He will say anything to get what he wants. Either way results are same. Your scr*wed
I started collection Saints in 2003 and in the following 7 years I did millions of dollars of buying and selling. I was treated with respect and courtesy from buying my first coin, Greg Rohan, to my last with Todd Imhoff. I got to know the principals very well and their standards are the highest in the business. Their cataloging is superb as are the descriptions. I've had great fun and business with the best.
Scam on shipping and handing 2 sml its paid 400 then 125 fee thats ok then 329 freight scam scam. Why cant people just do business
I used Heritage for the first time online, as an international buyer, to obtain a high end vintage comic book and this review is posted as a warning to others who may be considering doing likewise. Firstly, you will pay way over the market value. Their 20% buyers premium sees to that from the very start. Also, they offer bid protection of up to 3 increments to protect you from being 'sniped'. Sounds good but, when the bidding goes live in-house, you need to be aware that this increment can go up five fold. What you thought was a $100 increment suddenly becomes $500 and your prearranged bid protection kicks in and can cost you far more than you ever wanted to pay. When you win it can take at least 2 days for Heritage customer support to contact you and send an invoice, all be it devoid of any shipping costs. If you have any queries, their reponses are slow. It took me 2 emails and 2 phone calls from Europe to get things sorted, eg. Heritage getting my shipping address wrong. All the while the clock is ticking on the 7 days grace you get to settle the payment. I only just made it after 5 days of waiting for answers. Customer support are helpful and do try, but Heritage are prone to making mistakes. For me it was the wrong shipping address and not using the agreed International shipping carrier. The best (FedEx) was wanted and to me essential. Heritage changed it without notice to UPS who are notoriously inept in Europe and a company I would never ever choose. I had great difficulty in getting my purchase released for delivery from UPS and a full week later than the 'Express & Expedited' service I had paid $124 for?!
Finally, be aware that unlike other comic auction houses, Heritage set a Declare Value for shipping at the full purchase price which, includes their 20% commission. Importation taxes and duty are unduly set at the maximum cost to the buyer.
Don't think I will use them again mainly because, the experience has not proved to be a smooth ride nor financially viable.
