Look closely at the photos from the reviews on Discus.com… the discus being sold are frequently not the ones being advertised. Take note of how many reviews say that their orders look nothing like what they ordered. Also note, for items DOA, you receive STORE CREDIT ONLY. Therefore, in order to get what you order, you have to give them your business again. It's a scam, sadly. I have ordered from them twice & both discus arrived packaged poorly & severely ammonia burned, suggesting they were packaged & sent quickly with no care or thought involved. Although the seller is responsive, he offers no real help/solutions.
I ordered Altums and was excited to get them. I was later sent a email saying it was backordered. I kept in contact with Michael but all I got was they are coming. After 3 months, I just wanted my money back because he had no intention of filling my order or make excuses. I then was penalized over 20% to get a refund. What a thief and will never order from this site ever again and from all the reviews he has done this multiple times. Plus his shipping is the highest in the hobby world! What an awful person and doesn't deserve to be in business!
I got from Discus.com one of golden diamond discus fish is peppered, and the fish looks like dirty fish.
In my opinion and i think many hobbyist agree it is low quality fish low grade and they not supposed to sell such fish as a high quality fish. Michael from customer service tried to convince me what it is normal.

My experience with Michael at discus.com was horrible. The fish I received was much smaller then the size purchased and in horrible physical shape. It looked like the fish had not eaten in weeks. I will never purchase from him again.
Purchased over $400 worth of discus fish and a small bag of starter food. They sent the food overnight but never the fish. I disputed with Amex and they tried to use the tracking for the fish food as proof of delivery. Thankfully I kept all emails showing he promised to send the fish but never did. He then blocked my ip address so I couldn't visit his site to complain. He is a true POS and hope he gets arrested for his wrong doings.
I have ordered from Michael in the past and was satisfied. I ordered $660.00 worth of discus and after a week called and spoke with him. He said I had a large order and he has to quarantine the fish. I explained to him that has never been the issue before. I then got an email stating my order status has changed to Allocated/Reserved. I called him and asked what does that mean? He didn't answer my question but said at the earliest my fish would ship next week. Well, another week came and went. I called and he said it would ship next week. I told him that is what you said last week. He asked if I wanted to cancel, I said yes. He refund my money minus 15%. I called him to ask why and he referred me to his policy. He has a clock on his website that give you a deadline to order and receive overnight which has been the case in the past. I don't know what is going on at this company but it is not good! II WILL NEVER ORDER FROM DISCUS.COM AGAIN!
Placed a 700 dollar order and after they took my money they started asking for personal information to include bills, Facebook information, and my license. I told him I wasn't comfortable with sharing all this information and I canceled my order and he still charged me over 100 dollars. Hopefully people see this and stay away from this horrible person!
I ordered a bunch of live plants for my new goldfish setup. Among my order was 40 dollars worth of Marimo balls. He reached out after a week to tell me that the marimos were on back order. He asked if there were any other plants I was interested in I told him no and asked what the back order time looked like. He never responded and sent me what I believe is spiky moss can't be sure as he refuses to tell me what he sent. All the plants but 1 set were not in the condition as pictured on his site. My hornwort was brown and dying. After several emails he answered none of my questions and gave me terrible attitude. I will include my emails with him below. I also ordered a rock that I never received and he refused to address it when I asked. As a professional you should list your stock accurately on your site and not be an $#*! when dealing with YOUR own customers.
I bought some items from him, nothing expensive, but he shipped me the wrong ones, many days after the purchase. I communicate with him for a full refund AND the shipping cost. He didnt refund me the shippinng cost...disappointing trade person
He is a 3rd party shipper. He owns none of the products on his page. Absolutely zero knowledge of any products. Negative knowledge with plants. Little man ignored pictures I sent him of completely wrong product and asked if I was happy with the portion. Couldn't even tell me what any of the common plants were. No refund and blocked me.
