Only some cities load incident data on the map. Some of the features won't work at all with Firefox or Safari. It seems to want to use Chrome exclusively. If your agency doesn't update data every day, the end-user needs to adjust filters for specific calendar day. That's time consuming. The old version that had a different name (CrimeReports) was sure a lot better to render the map and incidents.

I like that it does show the data for some choice cities. It does not however show the data for addison texas (a small town but uppity town located next to Dallas), suspiciously listing only a few sexual predators but never any real crime (although the surrounding areas have a substantial amount of crime). I thought that it was accurate until about 3 days ago when I and my husband had our cars broken into and stolen from. I looked it up on the website and it still showed the peaceful haven it apparently is not. I hope that they are not getting paid not to show the real crime stats for certain cities as that would be very regrettable.

Here's how the site describes itself:_"How do community members receive information about criminal activity in their neighborhoods? Community members can visit www.CrimeReports.com any time to view crime incident reports for any participating jurisdiction. Based on the type of data the agency chooses to make available, community members can also sign up to receive daily, weekly or monthly email alerts regarding criminal activity and police dispatch calls for service in their neighborhoods. The majority of crime and call incident records are available indefinitely on CrimeReports.com"._This very handy. I often wonder how my neighborhood 's safety compares to others, especially after a shot of the evening news. Simply sign-up, select the particular 'crimes' you're interested in being alerted to (i. E. theft, assault, quality-of-life threats, etc.), enter your zip code, the activity within a particular radius, and your done._You can select a weekly, or daily update so this will not become overwhelming. You can also opt to become part of an active community of those who keep an eye on their neighborhoods if you wish.

The service to citizens is FREE.

Useless
November 20, 2021

Nothing will load— constantly told to "refresh page". When I finally get to the crime map it glitches (every single time) every 30 seconds. USELESS!
