Their organization is a total mess. I've earned 15 dollars more than a month ago and they still can't pay this to me. When you try to contact the service - they don't reply you. They say "we pay our artists once a week". But these people just stole my money...

CB Baby went to SH*T
February 10, 2022

I been with CD Baby for over 12 years, great company when when selling CD's. Since the digital distribution era not so much. They don't respond to emails or messages. My music has been opt out of Facebook for no reason given. The wait to the last minute to keep you posted on release dates. I can't link CD Baby to ASCAP. It has been a nightmare to even get an answer about any issues. I will no longer use them and regret putting out so many projects on there platform.

No customer service
January 17, 2022

It's been 3 weeks and they still haven't distributed my song. They said it could take 7-10 days. I tryed contacting the customer service several times. It said it could take up to 2 days to get a response but it's been almost 2 weeks now and I never received a call back or e-mail. So far it seems like there customer service is non existent and they basically just robbed me.

I paid CDBaby for publishing administration over a year ago. They never actually set it up and never provided the service. I've sent multiple emails and even a bbb complaint, but no response. Basically they stole my money and didn't even pretend to provide the publishing device. These people are complete crooks and scam artists. Do not let them rip you off.

IS THAT AT FIRST OKAY, THEY SEEM LIKE THE PEFECT MUSIC DISTRIBUTOR.
THEN, FAST FORWARD TO ABOUT A YEAR LATER WHEN THING START TO GO SOUTH.
I WILL NOT BORE YOU HERE I WILL JUST GET TO THE POINT AND THE VERY TRUTH.
THEY CONSTANTLY HARASS YOU WITH BOGUS ACCUSATIONS OF FRAUDULENT STREAMS ON YOUR MUSIC WHILE TRYING TO EMPTY OUT YOUR WHOLE ENTIRE MUSIC CATALOG.
AND THEY EVEN ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE NO PROOF.
I KNOW THAT THE ACCUSATIONS ARE BOGUS BECAUSE I HAVE NOT
USED ANY MUSIC PROMOS FOR MY SONGS IN OVER 90 DAYS FROM THEIR BOGUS NOTICE.
THEY WORK WITH SPOTIFY AND WHEN YOU LOOK ON SPOTIFY MOST OF YOUR SONGS
ARE EITHER REMOVED OR GREYED OUT ENTIRELY.
THEY ALSO HAVE THEIR TOS SO YOU CAN'T SUE THEM WHEN THINGS GO SOUTH.
And spotify fines your music distributor over $10.00 per SUPPOSED bogus track.
And then your music distributor passes the fines onto the artist so theres really no way
To make any money let alone get people to hear your music.
Spotify and the music distributor probably split the money.
And for those that read that a music distributor will keep your music up forever
And you have your songs on spotify? GOOD LUCK.
Because SPOTIFY will continue to commit fraud with these bogus fraudulent stream accusations
Until they empty out your whole entire music catalog after you die when you are in the ground
And then they move onto the next upcoming musical artist.
AND THIS IS ALL JUST FOR STARTERS.
FIND A BETTER MUSIC DISTRIBUTOR IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR MUSIC.

Poor Distribution
February 8, 2022

CD Baby accepted factual info and songs for new releases, however this is where they stop in ownership of dealing with it correctly. They dump your new releases on all sites but without verification on the correct linkages to the correct artist or the correct artist page or profile. Thus your new release becomes another artist release as they reap all the benefits of the release and clicks. You can try to get this rectified by them but it is all waist of effort and time and cost as they will only refer you to tips and marketing tips and more marketing ideas - they even think you are so stupid that you will even pay them more as to market someody else. Best advice - is to stay away

I just changed the review from one star to three (February 2022)! After all the customer service contacted me and was of real help. I give it 3 stars only because everything is complicated to be set up properly, however i think the distribution is efficient and the customer service is user friendly once a connection is established. My initial review from January 2022: I've been their customer for 9 years, registered as artist with 4cd productions and 2 singles. In the meantime i experienced very inefficient, even annoying customer service which is not personalized. It sometimes take months to receive an answer from support also for urgent matters. The rules for the admittance of productions are weird, if unlucky not even allowing to use the estabished band name. Example: they would not accept the band name Maggie Miller & George Hunter for a duo, although this is printed on the cover of the CD. Communication is slow and inefficient, usually cd baby is answering with standard phrases which might not provide answers to the actual problem at all, sometimes just sending out the same content again without really answering.

I was a member of CDBaby for several years before mr. Silvers sold it. The new owners obviously owe me small small amount of revenue I am due on sales, but it is impossible to access my account to check on anything. Bought a CD - got sent to wrong address due to admin error on CD Baby side - CD got returned by post office... No notification of return received by CD Baby - though CD definitely returned to them. After weeks of emails - CD Baby have pocketed the money and the CD! No refund no CD... Disgusting arrogant customer service Don't buy from them.

THIS ROYALTY COLLECTING AGENCY HAS COLLECTED
SOUND EXCHANGE ROYALTIES ON BEHALF OF ME AND
MY ARTISTS / RIGHT SIDE OF MY MUSIC. THEY HAVE NOW
TOLD ME THAT BACK IN dEC OF 2021 THAT THERE WAS
AN "OVER PAYMENT". AND HAVE NOT PROVIDED DETAILS
OF INDIVIDUAL SPINS AND WHERE THIS "ACCOUNTING"
ERROR HAS STEMMED FROM. THEY HAVE ALREADY
TAKEN BACK 1094.98 USD OF MY MONEY AND ARE
POSTING THE REMAINING AS A NEGATIVE BALANCE
WITHIN MY CD BABY ACCOUNT. AFTER NUMEROUS
ATTEMPTS AT SPEAKING WITH A REAL P[RSON, I HAVE
BEEN PUSHED TO TALK TO CHAT BOT SUPPORT AGENTS
AND HAVE RECENTLY RECIEVED ONE EMAIL FROM A REP
WITH A " APOLOGY".
I HAVE ALREADY BEEN IN CONTACT
WITH SOUND EXCHANGE, WHO PROVIDES MONIES TO
CD BABY FOR MY ROYALTIES WHO ARE NOW
ESCALATING THE INCIDENT.
