They sold me key fobs that were described as new OEM ones. A business that programs fobs couldn't program them though. Had no trouble programming other ones, so it wasn't any trouble with the truck. That mechanic concluded that the fobs were either counterfeit or refurbished poorly. CarAndTruckRemotes did refund for the product but not shipping. It ended up costing $50 shipping both ways. We shouldn't have to incur net loss because they fraudulently describe counterfeit/refurbished products as new OEM ones.
Bought a fob from them. The dealer - not just some locksmith - could not program it. I asked how to get a refund, never got an answer. I even sent them a nasty-gram saying, you do realize if you continue to ignore me, I will be posting bad reviews? Yeah, still haven't heard from them. Avoid business with this company.
Remote wouldn't program to the car. Excellent locksmith said the remote was "bad." A lot of time and effort for nothing. They wouldn't even do an exchange because it was over 90 days. Buy from elsewhere.
I bought a Tesla Model S key fob from them. I paid $100 thinking I would save $75 versus going to Tesla. I waited beyond my 90 day warranty to get it programmed. Tesla told me the remote was defective. I contacted Car and Truck Remotes customer service and they told me tough luck so I am out $100. I was hoping they would do the right thing but they failed. A warning to other potential customers.
I recommend paying up for a factory key fob. We had batteries die quickly and they would not replace a faulty fob (opened car, but did not start car after 3-4 month) because it was past the 90 day warranty. Will never buy again from them. Very disappointed. Purchased in December, broke in March. I tried to upload a screen shot of my order, but this site says it needs to be 300 x 300 pixels and I'm not sure how to make it that size.
Our remotes broke and the dealer could not get us a new one. Thankyou for your fast and efficient service. Any questions I had were answered. I would recommend this company to any one who needs a remote. Thankyou!
Saved about 70 bucks by taking purchased remote to locksmith instead of buying from a dealer. It was also about 25 dollars less programed with the entry door key cut than if I purchased it from the locksmith. It works great.
Purchased a key fob with remote car starter and never received it, just a generic uncut door key that I returned. They claimed they would send me what I actually purchased, but the order tracking even stated that they only created a label and never gave the package to USPS. Customer service refuses to send me what I purchased.
#1, their web site is not clear that the fob does not come programmed to work. I even phoned them prior to purchase to ask how they could program my fob, and they told me all that was needed was the ID #'s inside the fob (which I sent to them). It was not clear from the phone call nor from their web site that you have to go hire a locksmith after buying their fob. Perhaps this info is there, but it should be in big, bright letters up front.
#2, after receiving their fob and discovering I had to hire a locksmith, I phoned one who reprograms fobs. His price plus what I paid car&truck did not save me one penny had I just gone to my nearby Nissan dealer and bought the fob there. (A minor thing - hopefully - the top button on my fob from car&truck does not noticeably make a click sound when pushed. After I get it programmed, I hope it works.)
Went to the local locksmith when I lost the OEM remote. He gave me a card with the company's name and website. He told me it would be cheaper to do it yourself ( honesty you often don't get!). I ordered it and when it arrived I followed the instructions in the package and now I'm back in business!
Purchased a fairly new used car from a dealership for our daughter, When we picked the car up from the dealership, it came with only one key and I asked about the second key at which time they informed me I would need to contact the manufacturer dealer. Reached out to Hyundai Dealership and it was going to be $460.00 for the fob and key and an additional cost for cutting and coding. Thru Car and Truck Remotes, I found an OEM fob and listing for locksmiths that could cut and code the fob and key for my daughter. The remote fob and key was less than $100 and the locksmith was $75. I could have done this 3 times for what the dealership wanted. I have already referred them on to other friends and family.
Carandtruckremotes is a very reliable source for replacement vehicle remotes. Mine arrived for my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado truck, in a reasonable amount of time considering we live in central Canada and it worked perfectly as I was assured. The total cost was about 1/3 of the price I was quoted at the Chevrolet dealerships in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Way cheaper than the dealership! Good quality products. Excellent updates on product arrival, arrived within expected time. They also provided a link of licensed programmers to cut and program my key. Would use this site again and highly recommend them.
Got product at good cost, arrived quickly, website easy to use. They took care to make sure I understood that device had to be setup by a professional so that was not surprise. Have not gotten that done yet but expect no issues.
The order was made and charged to my account, with overnight shipping (I needed the fastest option of course). I waited 7 days and received no product, and was forced to contact local dealerships, locksmiths, and with great difficulty found someone with blanks for my car. Customer Service eventually got in touch with me via email (calls didn't work) and it seems that they were unable to ship my product timely because it was out of stock. I don't know if it was my fault for not seeing it was out of stock during the order or if their order system could have been more clear on it. In any case, they refunded the money when I needed to use a local, faster option. I would try them out again, but look carefully to make sure it's in stock, in case you need your key in a hurry.
Got it fast. It's just I wanted and needed. Website makes it very clear what I'm ordering and makes me feel confident about my selection. Got it programmed at the dealership now going to order one more for a back up.
Great service, had the remote in two days, programming was a snap maybe 5 min. The only difference is, after programming it, I have to be right next to the vehicle to open/lock or set the alarm. My original one worked with-in 30-40 ft.
After getting a used car without a remote key I was dreading looking to pay about $200 per key. Then I found where I could get keys refurbished. With the very easy to use site and awesome prices I received 2 keys for less than the price of one from the dealer. I have since been telling all of my car friends about this site and showing them the selection.
This company is absolutely amazing. Their personal touch customer service is outstanding. I ordered a key from their site, and when it arrived I took it to the dealership to have it coded to my truck. The dealership stated they were able to code it but the code would not remain. I made contact with Car & Truck and they replaced it right away! Received the second key and had no problem!
I can't thank them enough for the exceptional service they provided me.
Remote appears to be identical to the one that came with my car (including the little hidden key in the fob for opening the door in the event of a dead battery). We were able to program it using the instructions in the car's manual. So far, so good! And for people complaining they had to program their purchases... what magical world are you living in where you would just be mailed a remote that worked with your car automatically? What would stop it from working on every flipping car on the road?!?
