Bank Rate is my favorite place to keep track of mortgage rates, savings/CD rates, credit card deals, and insurance rates. I think they make money by sending leads on to other sellers of financial products, but I've found all their rate information to be reliable. It's nice to get it all in one place.

The star reviews you see come from the website editors and advertisers- NOT actual customers. This should be stated on their landing page but does not.

BE AWARE- this site only checks what banks can offer. What is not mentioned is customer service- because when your money is lured and held hostage deep in their system, getting out and getting things fixed is another story not found here. Half the 5 star reviews are one sentence, bot generated reviews with dubious ratings. Bankrate takes your info and sells it- it's another lead generation website that will spam you, sell your info and harvest your data. This is how you get robocalls and more junk offering loans & insurance in your email and letter mails.

My grandmother invested all of her retirement money according and following to Bank rates guidelines and now her money is so secure and safe that she can't even get it! It's currently so safe that when she looks at her account she can't even see it! Bank rate will keep your money so safe and it will keep it that way until you die. After you die it will then transfer your money to your spending account in heaven where you will live the remainder of eternity blowing your money on Virgin prostitutes and grade a 100% pure prayer powder! Grandma even bought me a Rolex and mailed it to me from heaven! Thank you bank rate! You made my grandma's death amazing.

I put my savings with Comentiy Direct as it was highly rated by bankrate. I have found since that both companies are less than reputable. Comenity is very nearly a scam, and Bankrate is driven soley by their own income and interest. Look for ratings somewhere else!

This is the absolute worst credit union or financial institution I have ever done business with! Avoid them! I wasted 15 yrs of my financial life with this bunch of narcissists. I am a twice widowed mother and they gouged me for 20k in o/d fees in that 15 yrs refused to give me a low interest loan or credit card but instead pushed their courtesy pay overdraft protection, charging me unlimited $27 fees a day and their ready reserve line of credit at 18%! I finally got out and opened two new accounts elsewhere and dumped them for good but have informed the regulators and going to contact a lawyer. They are also claiming a non profit tax status but gouging widows and now getting their slimes, greedy hands in investments! One day they will have to answer to God for all and I pity them those of us who are Christians and have read the Bible know that those who harm the widow and orphan will face the wrath of God, nothing angers him more!

Bankrate is in the lending biz and every article they put out about housing is nonsensical BS hype, it is non-stop and in the meantime the housing market is slowing down and heading for a crash! I bet Zillow owns them lol?

They will recommend any bank. Due diligence would show Comenity bank having 10's of thousands of complaints at BBB and elsewhere of the variety "they just kept my money and wouldn't give it back". This slides right on past bankrate.com.

The unacceptable time frame it takes to release my funds, despite the absence of any fraudulent activity, is causing significant frustration and hardship. I have complied with all the necessary verification processes and provided the requested documentation to confirm the transaction's legitimacy. However, the extended delay in releasing my funds creates unnecessary financial strain and impedes my ability to meet essential obligations for my mother and her expenses. I would like you to prioritize this matter and expedite the release of my funds without further delay. You must recognize the impact this prolonged wait has on my financial well-being and take immediate action to rectify the situation. I must consider alternative measures to resolve this matter, including reporting this issue to relevant regulatory authorities. I hope for a swift and satisfactory resolution to restore my confidence in your institution's commitment to providing efficient and customer-oriented service.

The bank's lack of assistance has caused immense distress, leading to physical illness. Despite reaching out for help with urgent financial matters, their response has been nothing short of abysmal. Failure to address specific concerns and unhelpful representatives have only compounded the problem. The sheer frustration and stress caused by their incompetence have taken a toll on both my mother's and my physical well-being. It is truly disheartening when a trusted institution fails to provide the support and resolution customers desperately need, leaving them feeling helpless and even physically unwell.

The state tax information on this website is way out of date and inaccurate in many cases. It really should be either updated or removed if they're not going to keep it up to date.
