The decision to move my dad into a retirement community was not easy. Having no prior experience with the process of finding a reputable community and figuring out how to pay for it, where does one even begin? Kathy, our advisor from A Place for Mom made the entire experience so much more manageable, from helping us to understand our options to pre-screening potential communities for my dad's financial and care needs and preferences. With her help we were able to identify and visit a number of suitable communities and even move my dad into his first choice community in record time. My dad is settling into his new home, already making new friends, and couldn't be happier. My brother and I are reassured that he has found a wonderful new living situation where he can enjoy his retirement to the fullest and receive the care he needs as he ages in place.
My family began looking for an assisted living facility a few weeks ago, we toured one that was recommended by a neighbor but saw a few issues we didn't like. I called A Place for Mom and immediately got a response. After speaking to a Representative I was given a list of highly rated facilities in our area and price range. I was also assigned a Representative to guide us through the process. We received honest opinions on the facilities and reviews for us to read. We selected three facilities to visit and by the following weekend we had selected the right facility for us.
My experience with a place for Mom was very warm and personal. Looking for a place for a loved one and knowing that they will be taken care of is a very stressful situation. I feel that Holly took the extra mile to extend her help with anything needed to make my experience for my mother the best it could possibly be.
I was completely at a loss on how to start caring for my 77 year mother after an Urostomy surgery. A place for mom put me as ease and help me get so much care for her at home after her surgery and also gave me material for the future
I had a very positive experience. My wife's long time caregiver was set to retire and I needed to decide if I needed to hire a replacement for in-home care or if was time for her to transition to in-facility memory care. A Place for Mom made recommendations for companies to handle each options. The recommendations were outstanding and I selected the best entity for both. Based on the status of my wife's condition I ultimately chose in-facility care and I could not be happier with the facility I selected.
Our consultant, David, was so patient and kind and assisted us with navigating our father's move to AL. I couldn't say enough good things about him and your service and would recommend A Place for Mom to anyone trying to navigate this very stressful time for all concerned in this challenging transition.
A Place For Mom arranged a tour for me at the Village in Westerville. I have been here for several days and absolutely love it. Everyone here is very kind and friendly. I highly recommend a Place For Mom and am truly grateful for Andre's help.
Had very good help from Kay - listened to me, checked on my progress regularly to see how things were going, was available, helped my find the right fit for our family in terms of locating an affordable, qualified, assisted living facility.
Got to the site by accident just trying to find reviews on the different homes. Found this as a good start for an actual search. Worked through with several professionals and finally wound up with one of the sites recommended here. Only hesitation is once referrals were made the phone calls became pestering. Some were very nice. While others were into more high-pressure sales.
Jessica was fabulous. Very attentive with constant follow-up. She made appointments for me to visit assisted living facilities. We settled on the first one I toured which has served our needs very well.

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
