At the time of writing, I am desperate to find a pro-bono family lawyer to rescue me from being screwed over by my wife in a divorce. So I was recommended to try this firm, The Affordable Family Law Clinic.

I called them up and was told that their fee for the first consultation was $300, after which their lawyer would tell me how much the rest was going to cost.

I asked, since I could get a consult for much less, or even for free, almost anywhere else, what part of their service did the "affordable" in their name refer to?

The receptionist answered, "I have no idea".
