Nextdoor
Questions & Answers

Due to activities on or associated with the local ND site that MAY have negative legal implications to the non actor members, I want to completely disassociate my self from ND locally and nationally. Thus far the best that I have been able to do is to deactivate my account; but, it appears that I am far from disassociated from ND as when I type in nextdoor.com information about my account pops up. I want to be clear of this bunch before any possible negative implications come to fruition. HELP!

Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.

Clear the cookies out of your cache. And yes, NextDoor.com sucks.

Don't know how to get myself off their radar. Was banned and no longer get notifications but a guy named Gordon from that website from hell refuses to delete my account. I think others may recognize his name. Sorry can't help. My best advice is to avoid next door at all costs.

Please be aware that anyone who treats you badly on this site can still treat you badly after you are gone. Those of us with ethics do not speak badly of a co-worker when they are not present and cannot defend themselves. Nextdoor is a breeding ground for people to do bad things while hiding behind their screen.

Same here, bombarded with their emails, a few a day and yet banned!
I had Head or neighbor lead whatever defending me and yet corporate run this like a russian state organization!

I don't know how to control them. They control their site and their methods smack of foreign censorship like you would see in China, Syria, Iran. I think that we have to get used to our new neighbor immigrants' standards being imposed on us in many different ways.

The sight continues to use my name to recruit when I have asked to be removed completely from any association with their closed and harmful application. This is a bad application. I wish to make it crry clear that I do not endorse Nextdoor for anything.

As someone else noted, there's no mechanism on Nextdoor to confirm whether the recipient opened your private message other than contacting them and asking. There are apps that will tell you, but not websites.

Seems to me that there is no universal ND experience and it very much depends on your neighborhood leads and how they behave.
