Ultimate Small Shop

One of the best books on shop setups that I've read. Most of some other guides just skim through and assume you have the funds to buy all that you need. Ralph's book focuses on budget and contains many real world practical examples which I appreciate!

I've been a tradesman for more than 30 years so I'm pretty experienced when it comes to what I love to do. Was pleasantly surprised by the tips Ralph teaches in his book. And its rare for me. Also, the list of discounted tool suppliers make this a no-brainer purchase.

This is a very clear, thorough, well-written book. It details many aspects of setting up a small wood shop, from layout to electrical work to insulation and soundproofing. The author also talks about what tools to select and suggests a priority order for people who cannot get all they want at once. It is an excellent source of information for anyone from hobbyists to beginning professionals.

This book contains a LOT of information and you learn a lot from the photos. There are many practical ideas, is very well illustrated and detailed. Dust collection, electrical supply and shop layout are covered completely.

I never considering buying a book when it comes to shop set ups and this is an exception. The list of tools and places to purchase them was well worth the entire price of the book and much more! Discovered many new sources that I never thought existed.
