Great site for learning lighting for cheap - David Hobby does a great job of explaining lighting concepts on his regular blog.

The great thing about this site is that -

1. It uses cheaper equipment like regular manual flashes that can be had for as cheap as 20-50 dollars on craiglist. He teaches you how to use it off-camera in very simple words.

2. Lots of tutorials and reviews. Videos of behind-the-scenes and making of teh images.

3. Cheap DIY solutions using parts from homedpot and local stores. His posts on ringlights using bowls and dishes is great.

4. Is geared towards beginners and semi-pros.
