Had business with Porch until the beginning of 2024 on our Roofing Company on three states. We were buying "Roofing Leads" from them. Turns out all of those "exclusive leads" were not real, no true homeowners. This alone made us stop the service altogether in June. We spoke to Customer Support, they advised we would stop the lead generation and the annual subscription which was paid for already.
Fast forward to December. We had two charges made, from $130 and $360 on two different accounts. We contacted Customer Support again. First agent I spoke to was completely unaware of the situation, he could not provide any information and told us we would get a call back to sort everything out.
Second agent called some days after that. We were told those charges had been done because the annual memberships were not cancelled and that we could not get a refund for those.
We had everything cancelled by another representative that did not do his job properly apparently and when we asked for a supervisor or a legal department, Walden, the representative, advised they did not have either of those.
Summarized: We asked for a complete cancellation which was not done properly, we got charged for a service that not only did it underperformed, but was not transparent, nor honest. And then we got charged again for it with no possibility of a refund not the chance to talk to a supervisor or a legal department. Which according to customer service, they don't have.
Almost 100% of the time you cannot reach delayed, they send you. And there's too many rules about getting a refund so the satisfaction guarantee is no guarantee at all. I believe there are no leads and they are just scamming contractors. Seven years ago they were decent now it's 100% scam
I find them to be a bunch of scammers only differents there not up front with it 3yrs and all I did was buy leads never made back a penny until in the end I decided to give up which was a wk ago. They already have there pros whom they look after. Buying leads is the biggest rip off I ever experience in America from Porch I Hope the Government look into it.last yr I payed for a subscription $256 for membership also with the promise From big talking Alex, that my company would get more recognition.what a fool I was to listen to this man.Upto now I haven't made back a penny. And on top of everything I still had to buy leads which no customer answers and when they do they say they got someone already so you lead money don't go back in your bank account it goes in porch bank.I could go on but my advise to anyone is do your research.
I checked my business profile on Google was shocked when I found out porch used my company identity to solicate quotes I immediately called them. Multiple calls multiple days no response. Steer clear of these parasites I only hit one star because a lower rating isn't a option
They do not honor the refund policy they'll try to find any excuse literally not to refund. And everytime they call it's only to upsell another subscription tier, also they lie about "free advertising" on their app
I already caught them lying saying I was on their for being a yearly member lol they're full of $#*!
Don't waste your time with the lead generation business. Leads are poor, and they don't honor there refund policies!
I am an Architect who has worked with Connolly Construction since 2012 and they have always made the projects better. Rod Connolly and his crew are top professionals and I always recommend them to my clients.
We are a cleaning business registered on their website.
Everytime we see a good lead, we pay for it ($18 each) and we can never get a hold of the person interested in the service.
We call, text and they never answer.
Porch says we need to call to get a refund. As a family owned business we are always busy and I have no time to be talking to a represenrative trying to make me advertise for more money instead of buying individual leads.
This website is not suitable for small business and people should have more concience when posting a request for a job!
Companies like ours are struggling to get more business and wasting the little money we have is unfair.
This month only we lost 36 buying 2 leads and people NEVER answered our calls or message. Done with porch
Porch wont have our business again.
I contacted Andrew Slabaugh (Circle S Investments Inc.) regarding installation of fencing. He was able to schedule the work within a week. He installed over 82 ft of fencing, to include gate, in less than a day. Fencing is beautiful and the price is right. Highly recommend Andrew!
Two years ago I hired a contractor off of Angi and had to sue the contractor Mold Mitigation BY Murphy. I won the lawsuit. I sent a copy of the lawsuit default to Angi band Mold Mitigation By Murphy from their website. Now I see Mold Mitigation BY Murphy on Porch ripping customers off. I sent a copy of the lawsuit default judgement to Porch but they refuse to kick them off of their website.
Good News. Recently I had two handyman jobs done by Goody's. Their team was great. They completely satisfied my expectations. I had a double pane slider replacement installed and faucet replacement plumbing work. Both jobs done promptly, within estimate. And clean. I highly recommend their team. I will be using them again soon.
I've been a porch professional for more than 4 years. I stopped using them for lack of quality leads and they enticed me with "verified leads". Those leads were far and few between. I have since stopped using them and have a balance of $350 and they refuse to refund my money. Looking at their current lead opportunities, the nearest lead is 40 miles away. Don't use them. They are withering away, having less and less relevant leads and just don't do what they promise as they pressure you back into re-signing up.
Relentlessly nagged, called left messages. Harrassment. I asked nicely please stop calling me. Wouldn't stop. Reported to bbb.
Save yourself the time and aggravation, and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I initially set up a project to hang a TV. The initial communication and scheduling was fine and was set for Monday morning, October 3rd. They sent reminders confirming the arrival. They should have been confirming with the provider! The Monday appointment was delayed until Tuesday, because "the provider was sick". STRIKE ONE. On Tuesday, I was told the provider had quit. STRIKE TWO. There was then an attempt to schedule for Friday, but it was clear on the phone that they were scheduling based on only my availability and without a particular provider in mind, so that was delayed until they found a provider. STRIKE THREE. I was then "confirmed" with Kevin for Saturday morning at 9:00. When nobody showed up, I reached out to Porch to see what was going on. STRIKE FOUR. I was told that the same provider had "confirmed" that he was available the same day at 4:00 p.m. Less than two hours later, I was told that they needed to reschedule for October 12th. STRIKE FIVE. At that point, I cancelled my order letting them know what I will tell anyone who will listen. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! I then received a phone call from someone asking if I was sure I didn't need the provider at 4:00. WHAT?! Clearly, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, and NOBODY is actually accountable for the provider actually showing up to do the work. What a joke. I wasted a week, and gave this company FIVE opportunities to get their "stuff" together. NOTHING! Horrific experience. Anyone booking should go and buy a lottery ticket at the same time. The lottery ticket has a better chance of paying off.
I had a review of another I company I used and gave them a 1 star rating on Porch and Angie's list, well the company and I have since settled our differences. I contacted both sites and asked them to change my rating of the company and delete my previous posts. Home Advisors ( Angie's List) called me within 2 hours of my request and changed my review and deleted my previous post. 5 days later I am still waiting on Porch to do the same. How would you like it if it was your business and you still had a negative review, due to this company?
I entered into a contract with MovingPlace, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Porch.com. I paid them nearly $5,000 to have a container dropped off at my house on a Friday so that we could load it with movers on Saturday then have it picked up on Monday.
On Friday afternoon, they inform me that the carrier they are working with (and note this well--they work with carriers instead of doing it themselves, meaning you're paying more) wouldn't deliver the container that day. Then they guaranteed it would come the next day, Saturday. I confirmed with them multiple times that it would arrive. Lo and behold, once again I get a call that they would not deliver it on Saturday and would not get it until Monday.
Well I canceled all of my movers and that cost money, and then I moved everything outside myself over hours and hours of labor, and now it's going to rain between now and Monday when they're finally claiming they're going to drop off the container.
Porch. Coom and it's subsidiary MovingPlace are not reliable and should be avoided at all costs. Contract directly with the carriers at issue.
I'll neve put a single dollar again on this scam platform! I spent money and never received at least a message from any customer! Terrible company!
These guys came and did some paint work in my house and were so professional and polite. Would use them again&again
Answer: Not totally a scam but Not totally ethical either. I don't recommend them
Answer: The business pay for the lead. Is a shame as they get a lot of ppl who are just checking prices and we need to pay for these crap
