Great Getaway Places
April 13, 2021

I recently visited a friend in southern Ohio and we trekked to Carter Caves State Park in Kentucky, the subject of this review. Carter Caves has a lodge but it isn't fancy. But what it it is is a peaceful place away from everything. Needless to say, it was not crowded. There isn't a lot to do there but hike, fish, and go on a couple of caves tours. The park used to have a golf course, but not anymore. The nearby swimming pool was not yet opened. But if you want to sit out on your own little porch, drink tea and relax as you gaze out into the forest after a hike, this is the place.
