I had a bad experience with a contractor, but my review was removed because the job wasn't completed—due to the contractor's own mistake. It seems the platform is biased in favor of the contractor, likely because they receive payment from them.

Please be aware when you consider using this company - not to be confused with other companies with similar names who have a good reputation. We are well out of pocket by this roofer who has made an appalling job on our roof which must be stripped off and completely started again by a well-respected roofer. He asks for money up front and leaves his young apprentices to carry out the work. A major liability... His reputation in the Hartland area down as far as Bude is nothing but negative.

I signed up as a tradesperson on MyBuilder, but every time I got shortlisted for a job, I had to pay—even when the customers never replied or went silent. It made no sense. To test the system, I created a second account pretending to be a customer looking for a handyman. The number of shortlisting emails I received was ridiculous. Even after selecting a tradesperson, the site kept pushing me to shortlist more. This platform is designed to exploit tradespeople. They force customers to keep shortlisting, creating a cycle where tradespeople pay for leads that often go nowhere. It's a scam model built to steal from hardworking tradesmen and women.

I posted an ad on MyBuilder then selected a roofer to install some Velux windows in my house, based on them having decent reviews. Roofer stated he needed a down payment to purchase the windows, which seemed reasonable as it was approx £2000 worth. Roofer has now done a runner and it's only too late that I've looked into what MyBuilder claims is a verified review process: there's absolutely no verification required and anybody can claim to have hired a contractor simply to put reviews on there. Cost me £2000 to find that out

"VETTED" person turns up ruins our bathroom and they do a Pontus pilate! THEY claim they "introduce" when in fact they sell your details to people who they DO NOT vet. Online scammers.

We paid £1000 to have our roof repaired and still it leaked. We had to get another company to inspect the repairs and they stated it was a mess. It will cost £1800 to have the roof watertight. In future I will contact Checkatrade if I require any work to be done in my house.

Absolute thieves and con artists! Like so many reviews my story is the same. Received a leaf and rang it immediately... in fact I was desperate to get work so continued ringing throughout the day... no answer! That's when I got stiffed for £31...I didn't even get to speak to anyone and got charged this when I was absolutely skint. I contacted them but got no response. I imagine they just buy a burner phone send out the new number on a fabricated new leaf and say around laughing their heads off as it rang merrily away all day long as they sent out demands for money. Now I've had 2 debt collector letters demanding payment! They are a very slippery company all together and doubt very much they are as transparent as they might make out. There is nobody to police them as they just generate leads that nobody knows are real or not. An absolute snake of an outfit who just pray on people obviously needing work only to steal off them and send debt collectors... absolute ignorant thieving scum... STAY AWAY... and now carol whoever she is has replied with comments distancing themselves saying I apparently had an opportunity to reply using terms like 'regrettably' and unfortunately' etc... absolute horse dung I've had no such olive branch as they have indicated and Carol probably doesn't exist anyway...in EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE I CANNOT SPEAK TO ANYONE... DEBT COLLECTORS REMAIN... DO NOT BE SWALLOWED IN BY THESE CON ARTISTS... NOTHING BUT SNEAKY SCUM! Just to add I have had to pay the filthy scumbags after getting serious threats from debt collectors. THERE ARE REPUTABLE COMPANIES SIMILAR TO THESE THIEVES WHO DO NOT SET OUT TO STEAL YOUR MONEY...UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE THESE...THEY WILL SIMPLY DESTROY YOU!

I had Jem Kemal/Carpenter repairing my son's cracked wooden door frame, the job was done to a very high standard of craftsmanship, also gave me good advice and informed me what he would do to repair the door, anyone wanting a Carpenter, I recommend you go online and book Jem, 'JKS Carpentry' thanks again Jem!

If you want to pay for fake leads which I believe are people in their offices responding and making up jobs then disappearing you will be broke before you even start. £200 for 9 leads 1 spoken to and when I sent him his quote I got no response, SCREAMS SCAM!

We got them of mybuilder stay well away from them fitted my bathroom 3 leaks not able to use bathroom called text no response more cowboy builders of mybuilder site and look at the door he a joiner ffs

I advertised for someone to clear all weeds from my front and back garden. Patrick came on time and did a fantastic job at an extremely reasonable price. I highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in hiring a punctual,pleasant and hardworking person

MyBuilderisoneofthe dodgiest company ever, they will just put you on a short list regarless you are professional or not and there is a button called shortlist or show interest which will automaically put you on a shortlist without any reviews. The company is just money hunger and does not care what you can do.

I haveclosedmy account with themafter my first bid and I realisedit isnotworth my money.

MyBuilder.com is cheating whit shortlist fee. Not every shortlisted job is happening but MyBuilder.com they still charging their fees. Which is wrong.

The builder Big Bear Bros has taken over twenty thousand pounds stolen my hob my kitchen cupboard doors kept two radiators and left house unfinished. Due to him not paying his staff they expected money off me and when I refused they took their equipment yesterday morning after screaming at my friend and have left house unfinished. Not happy I got them from your site. Disgusted and I am now informing the police

Hi I'm a tradesman, Gas engineer.
This site is a scam.
You have to pay £10 odd to be 'shortlisted' for a job which means you can just have the supposed customer details.
I did this twice and the 'customer' was some random call centre in London.
So I think they have people create fake jobs to get money from 'leads' fraudulently.
I can't be bothered to pursue just paid £18 to stop getting harassing emails and deleted account.

Dealing with Suad Kadria of SS Building Services on the repointing of my house has been a good experience. Suad is efficient and friendly and I certainly look forward to working with him again in the future.

He replied straight away, gave me the price an I accept it an fixed thd date, as they advice us to get a quote from at list 4 so I was bit septical that I should have few more quote!.He sound genuine and must say he was down to earth did so much extra and never charge, I even offered more money but he won't take it. I recommend him 100% did very good job and very nice person.God bless him

I hired a carpenter called Andrew Nutt to hang a glazed door internal, a 1st class job he done me proud, so much so he will get the job for my garden fencing.Well done Andrew. Neil.
