I don't buy patterns in shops anymore

You can search for every pattern in the catalogue with ease, on Butterick and McCall some patterns are available as download. No more lost pieces. Take your time and shop when you want. Even now with the exchange rate very poor it is cheaper to buy patterns when discounted directly from the US than in Australia in a a shop.
