Eid ul-Fitr, also known as the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The fitra or Zakat al-Fitr is a mandatory charitable contribution that Muslims are required to give before Eid ul-Fitr prayers.
The purpose of Zakat al-Fitr is to ensure that the less fortunate members of the community can also enjoy the festivities of Eid by having enough food and provisions for the celebration. It is obligatory for every Muslim, who can afford it, to pay Zakat al-Fitr for themselves and their dependents, including children and elderly members of the family.
Your donation to JDC's Fitra program not only provides immediate relief to those in need but also lays the foundation for long-term sustainable change. Through initiatives focused on education, healthcare, and economic empowerment, JDC works to uplift communities and break the cycle of poverty. Your support enables JDC to implement impactful projects that address the root causes of deprivation and build brighter futures for generations to come.
