Historypin is a very interesting pinning website that allows people to share their photos and tag them to a specific location on a map, for example in New York City. The websites goal is to map out the entire worlds history through photos. This is really cool because each picture has a story and it is really fascinating to see and hear stories about different locations that may be special to you. It is a way to connect with the past and the present. History pin has some really helpful features such as a search bar that allows you to search times and dates. However some parts of the website can be a bit confusing to someone who is just beginning, you also have to have a google account to create a historypin account which is a little annoying. In the end I think that this is a very fun website that allows everyone to take part in mapping out the worlds history.
Really cool idea - will be interesting to see if it takes off, but the examples of how it integrates with streetview are fascinating.
