SCAM ALERT: Subscription Cancellation Nightmare!
I had a terrible experience with the FamilyTime app and its management. Despite multiple emails to their billing team and requests via live chat to cancel my subscription, they refused to process the cancellation. They continued charging me even after repeated cancellation requests. When I requested a refund, they kept routing me around, offering no real assistance or resolution.
If you're facing the same issue, here's a solution: Write a negative review to warn others, and bypass FamilyTime's support entirely. Instead, reach out to their third-party payment gateway, FastSpring, and file a chargeback request using this form: https://fastspring.com/consumer-support-form/. FastSpring refunded my money within 48 hours—something FamilyTime failed to do.
Beware of this app and its unethical practices! They'll hold onto your money unless you take action through other channels.
Downloaded the app last year to see if it would help manage screentime. It didn't, so I deactivated it (or so I thought - there is nowhere in the app to unsubscribe and no subscription created in Google Play). After being charged for the annual amount, I reached out to their Support team to cancel and be refunded to which they allegedly obliged. Was just charged AGAIN for my annual renewal? I don't know why they would still have my payment information on file, and what made them think they could charge me again. So now I have to argue for another refund. I think this company likely stays alive by billing people and hoping they don't notice, since there is no way to see if you have an active subscription or not.
The app doesn't work, crashes constantly, doesn't track your family. They also refuse to provide a refund. They keep your money, and bots auto respond to you with no real human follow-up. I think they are based off-shore, so no legal recourse. Use a different family tracking app unless you want to lose your money and take on a lot of frustration and time. Buyer beware, you have been warned!

App doesnt work, customer service terrible they say they will refund but dont... stay App simply doesnt work, customer support claim to refund but money never comes through, stay well clear of this company
I have been chasing a promised refund since Nov 2020. Even if the app doesn't work, they will keep your money!
Over 150 emails back and forth with the same reply template advising it was being refunded. They also try bribe you to not put a bad review up.

Promised a refund by Marc Jaegar 18mths ago for the service not working - still chasing money and been told over and over again " its bein processed" they are liars. They won't do anything they say they will. The app is clunky and doesnt work properly yet- and when it fails they still keep you money!

If your kid has an iPhone you can't block 'some' apps like social media. Also, no matter what content filter level you choose they can open Instagram for example on Safari. Their solution…disable internet. Thanks a lot.
Warning do not waste your money! I worked with their support for over a month and could not get it to work. The only way to talk to billing is through email. I was told that I would get a refund and 5 months later still have not gotten one. The emails always read "Our billing department is currently processing your refund issue." I have worked as an IT engineer 30 years and this is the worst software company I have worked with. Do not use FamilyTime and save yourself time, money, and headaches.
Agree with other reviewers on here. The app is terrible. But when you try to cancel, there is no way to do so, no way to contact anyone other than email, and then the same people give you the run around and bill you again the next year. Find a real company with real customer service. This is a scam with planted fake positive reviews to get parents to sign on.
I signed up to the free trial it never worked they had an excuse for everything I canceled well before the trial ended. They have been charging me and I have never even used it I am still waiting for my refunds 6 months later. And I get the same thing 24 hours you will get a refund. It makes my blood boil that these scammers don't have to be accountable for stealing and they just hide behind a screen.
Do not commit to automatic renewal. I was billed on 1/1. Once I was aware of the charge on 1/3 (1/2 was a holiday), I immediately contacted Family time directly and cancelled the service. They REFUSED to refund my annual fee siting a refund policy clause that stated you had to cancel before the renewal, and claimed they sent me an email, which I never received. Be weary!
Answer: It's even worse than ScreenTime app, I would suggest you to use built in parental controls and avoid using third party apps as these take so much of personal data.
