Escrow is a incompetent company. I'll never use them again. They closed my transaction on 12 March 2024 but 1 week later I still didn't get the funds.
When I asked their customer support. They told me that I and buyer need to complete the process. While I completed the process 1 week earlier and escrow closed the transaction
This place is a fraud to the point I am hiring an attorney and filing a complaint with The California Department of Protection and Innovation, which regulates escrow agents. These people took my $17,000 immediately after I signed up for their services. They have been giving me the run around since that day. I have canceled their service and asked for a full refund and complied with their request but they just keep adding more requests to complete the refund. There should be no problem returning the money to the same account it came from, especially since both me and the seller confirmed the cancellation of our transaction using their services. BEWARE, this company is far from trustworthy!
Trustadvisor puts this site at 2.9 stars, but sitejabber at 4.8? Something seems to be really wrong with the sitejabber reviews, sorry.
1) I paid last week, 6 days ago actually. Escrow registered the payment, but since then it's "under review" for no reason.
2) I also had other issues, disconcerting error messages as well as being told that I hadn't paid yet when I actually had.
3) Finally, the fees are not transparent. We expected $13, but including payment processing it ended up being over $25 (for a small transaction, mind you).
Deals can fall through for many reasons, if you want to add totally unreasonable delay to the possible ways a deal can go wrong, use escrow.com
So so disappointed.
These jokers will screw your deal up. We started a transaction with them in mid february and even though the money was sent to them throught electronic transfer after 10 days they still had not cleared the funds. Caused the buyer to cancel deal and now at over 22 days he still has not gotten his money back from escrow.com. Absolutely ridiculous and a joke of a business.
Avoid this dumpster fire of a company. We were trying to close a deal by the end of February (it was feb 12th)...should have been easy. They received wire transfer and 9 days later still holding funds without any explanation and now theres no waynm the deal will finish in time. If you want to screw a deal up and get charged for it by all means use them otherwise avoid like the plague.
I've never bought or sold a domain before, so after making an informal deal with someone, I started to research escrow services. While many exist, Escrow.com, is one that kept coming up and always in a positive light. I decided to pay extra for their concierge service, since I was unfamiliar with how the whole process worked. I'm beyond happy that I did because the acquisition process required numerous steps (sending official letters, contacting registrars, etc) and they handled all of it. The support staff, Jo especially, were extremely patient and helpful, guiding me through the entire process. If I ever need to use an escrow service again, I won't hesitate to use Escrow.com again!
Waiting 5+ days for payment to get to seller. Countless calls to them, I'm told different things from every rep. Yet I'm assure 'funds are in process and being sent today'. This goes on for 3 days. There's some mysterious 'review team' that can't be contacted yet holds your funds hostage. Nearly blew up the whole deal. Absolutely terrible company
First time using Escrow.com and was having issues verifying account and understanding how to setup payments. Team was amazing all the times I called into customer support. Very short or no wait times. Worked with Diana V today a couple times and she helped her everything resolved and walked me through everything on the phone until everything was complete. Love you guys and will definitely continue to use and recommend in future.
The Escrow.com website describes a $26 'standard fee', which increased to $45 when I signed up and entered the amount I wanted to transfer ($1400) I'd call that a sliding fee rather than a standard fee. And only after I'd sent the buy offer did the confirmation page reveal there are additional fees for the two payment options: $25 for international wire transfer or $46 for Paypal or credit card. And accepting credit card payments just doesn't cost that much. This is deceptive conduct and terrible value for money. I won't use this service again and I will caution friends and family members against using it.
Hi Daniel,
The fee calculator you screenshot is there to make sure customers can see the escrow fee charged before starting a transaction, not to deceive. We advise the inclusion of $25 for an international wire transfer as international intermediary banks take wire transfer fees from deposits before they reach Escrow.com - these are not fees that go to Escrow.com.
I hope this helps clarify.

It's hit or miss, I've been hung up on 4 times. But, every once and awhile someone will go out of there way. Verifying funds can be extremely daunting. Especially with the verification process. Customer service and "proof of funds" severely needs to be updated. This should not be so difficult for a buyer.
Why would anyone use a web hosting service to buy a domain and pay 15-20% commission? Escrow makes the transaction easy, safe and extremely affordable.
I will be using this company from now on.
Thank you.

Answer: Hi David, we've processed just over $3 billion in transactions to date, with transactions from $100 all the way up to over $10,000,000. In addition to our regular licensing requirements, I hope you'll take a moment to look at the customer testimonials on www.escrow.com
Answer: Hi Janine! Thanks for reaching out! As the largest online licensed and audited escrow operator, Escrow.com is your best choice for domain transfer transactions. Escrow.com safely holds or secures the Buyer's payment in a trust account until the entire transaction is complete. That way, Buyers can be confident that the domain will be registered in their name and Sellers can be sure they'll be paid. We also have the concierge service for domain transfers without content where the Seller needs not to wait for the Buyer to confirm receipt and full control of the domain as Escrow.com will essentially take care of that inspection in your behalf. The Seller will only need to transfer the domain to one of our secured registrar accounts and we can release the funds to them. On the Buyer's side, they don't need the inspect period to verify the domain because we will do that for them. Our concierge team will work directly with the Seller to transfer the domain to us so there's no need for the Buyer to stress with follow-ups about the domain transfer. As soon as we secure the payment, the Buyer only needs to advise us where they want the domain to be transferred to and we will take care of the rest. Our dedicated concierge specialists will assist you every step of the way. Feel free to leave your contact details and best time to call as we are happy to discuss with you further should you have other questions. Thanks!
Answer: Hi Milly, I'm not sure I'm understanding your question exactly but Escrow.com only displays bank information on our site and never via email. Check to make sure any emails you are receiving came from@escrow.com.
Answer: Hi Doug, start by making an offer to the seller through the AutoTrader.ca's Secure Payment platform. Once the offer is accepted you can pay into the escrow account and then go to inspect the car. If everything is as expected you can release funds to the seller right there on the spot. Two quick tips: Always make sure emails about your transaction are coming from an@escrow.com email address, and make sure you log into Escrow.com to make sure you're sending funds to the correct account. Hope this helps!
