I know it's old news but I REALLY like Google Earth (earth.google.com) Spinning round the globe, zooming in to the country /city / street of my choice from my own computer – fantastic, or what?
You can search by name, latitude and longitude, map reference etc., or just by panning and zooming. Planning a hike? Measure the distance on the ground, check the altitudes, see the terrain…
What a great way of teaching geography to kids. And, it's free. Marvellous!
When type in an address it displays accuracy, but for some reason, my address ( important in case an emergency occurs, and I am needed to be found via Satelite view is the only reason I am putting this. Such as a constant hacker, etc.) shows another home as is my house. Other than that consistent error. I love the program. Imagine a transmission from a company or police on an emergency that goes through this view and) oops, sent it to the wrong house ( thank goodness I have Xfinity cable internet and cell)
Google Earth is a web tool that lets you zoom in and out on a 3d map on any location in the world. There are two versions; the free one and the one oriented more towards businesses that costs $399 per user. The paid one allows the user to find distances, place layouts on top of the map, and give the map a better resolution. It is a very simple tool to use in that you start up the application and can either type in the address you want to look at or you can zoom in and rotate the map using the mouse. Uses can include just looking at places that you know or want to visit or could include learning about the moon and the rest of our earth. Positive uses of Google Earth include environmental activists showing negative environmental changes such as mountaintop removal and deforestation. It has also been used by the United Nations to show urbanization in developing cities such as Shenzhen China and a dropping water level in the Aral Sea.
I really thought earth was gonna be a nice place to live, but I was really wrong. It's very ghetto and the humans aren't very nice. I'm gonna go ahead and live out this incarnation here, but next time it's gonna be somewhere else. I think I'll take my chances on Saturn or something. I gave it one star bc the animals are cool.
I wrote a negative review of the Mayo Clinic on GOOGLE EARTH REVIEWS. According to the email from GOOGLE EARTH to me (which I still have in my email as proof...) stating that "my review was one of their most popular", my review had hit 10,000 views in 2 months... so GOOGLE EARTH stopped the counter the VERY NEXT WEEK!? I am betting Mayo Clinic PAID GOOGLE EARTH to stop the counter?! It now hasn't changed in several weeks... but, it had OVER 10,000 views the first 2 months!? Do NOT trust GOOGLE EARTH REVIEWS because they are blocking negative reviews of Liberal companies that they support... like GOOGLE is. SO... how do we REALLY know how good ANY of these businesses or companies are when GOOGLE EARTH REVIEWS turns on and off the counters of these reviews and picks and chooses which ones they want US to see!?
Sometimes I just can stare at this for hours without some purpose. I love to zoom in some places I didn't even know they existed. You can educate and entertain yourself with this thing!
This app won't let me zoom in and see the North and South Pole. It goes all wonky. Why? What is being hidden. Sounds like an episode of The X-Files.
Why does google earth show the Russian border as including Crimea when this illegal land grab has not been recognised by the United Nations/
I am not real experience with Google Earth but the few times that I have messed around with it I totally enjoyed it.
Google Earth has a rating of 3.6 stars from 11 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Google Earth ranks 4th among Maps sites.
