Factual information which "alternative facts" fans will find offensive. Republicans don't do well with intelligent, well-informed populations, so they will definitely not want you reading anything on this site.
Interesting to hear others negative reviews... I see that the right wing conservatives are rather thin skinned when it comes to information that challenges their miss informed opinion of themselves and the traitors they support.
This site presents the facts, weaves compelling narratives, and really tells it like it is. It's an incredibly valuable resource for people who want to stay informed. No wonder right-wingers do their best to denigrate it. They're so brainwashed by the lies spewed by Fox that the truth has become anathema to them. Three cheers for Crooks and Liars!
Looks like a lot of unemployed wannabe writers hang out here. Appears to be maintained by high school or college kids. Don't waste your time here... they really are liars or simply out of touch with reality.
If you want a view of how TDS destroys brain cells, go have a look. I see liberals sharing this site because they have zero credibility themselves. When you lose on every political issue, you're either a crook or a liar. This site (C$L) should be shutdown.
I have known C&L since the early days and used to enjoy the site quite a bit.
Slowly, I noticed more and more headlines that were deliberately misleading, and sometimes the article itself. Over time, this got worse and worse. Moreover, when I've mentioned it on the comments, the author (and one time the founder, John Amato) jumped in to defend their misuse of the English language, as if their desire for something to be so made it true.
The comment community is very tribal and brooks no dissenting views, no matter how respectful. I've not had the experience of having my comments removed, but it's obvious that C&L wants to be an echo chamber. And it is. This is re-enforced by the community, and sometimes by someone on staff.
Don't waste your time. Definitely not a fact check site of any kind; has little to do with truth or fact. Articles are full of uber-progressive hyperbole and are focused largely on anti-trump headlines, stories and conclusions. There are opinions but they're poorly presented as thinly-veiled fact and aren't even half-interesting or amusing. If you're wondering where the hate starts, it's in petri dishes like this.
Thought it was strange that there was not one single opposing comment on an article about Penzeys. So I wrote a couple and they were both immediately removed. I did not use bad language, threats, anything that would justify being censored. So heads up folks, if you do not see both sides represented in the comments, then you know you are dealing with an unscrupulous site.
My experience is the same as the reviewer above. I posted dissenting view point. Was greeted by hostile replies and personal attacks. Upon review of the postings I found no dissenting opinions and plenty of four letter words. I responded in kind only to be banned and told I violated the TOS.
These people are not reporters. They are a political site that does not tolerate dissenting view points.
I wrote a rather neutral opinion in the comments, as I see the comment section and everyone parrots the same "far left" angry opinion. I thought, these people can't all be falling for this. I said "no sane person buys a gun just to kill people". Quickly, someone responded saying what I said was out of line, and that "white people buy guns just to murder people". Anyway, apparently what I said was offensive and I got banned from the platform.
Really makes no sense at all. I'm glad to off the platform, as I thought I was being reasonable and the person who responded was the offensive one.
Overall, it seems the community is really toxic, I wouldn't recommend.
I found this website by accident, but decided to take a look to see what it was all about. I was horrified! This website is biased and if you use the F word and everyone is on your side, they keep the posts. If you use the F word and are the minority on an issue, they ban you from their website. This website has way too many "political junkies" who use foul language. It is a disgusting website. This website is really bad and I will never visit it again.
Lies and crooks behind the news, politics and business
Crooks and Liars digs up embarrassing 'mistakes' 'misspokes (sic Hilary Clinton)' and downright lies from top politicians and business people. It is biased to American news stories but not exclusively. Anyway, the American stories are usually funny enough to warrant a peek at the site. Crooks and Liars also asks some of the tougher questions that quite a few main stream journalists conveniently forget to bring forward.

I opened an account on C&L about 6 weeks ago. I engaged in honest debate with the commenters, never using bad language or responding impolitely, even though I was called every name in the book by the like-minded regulars on the site. Several days ago, I commented that the Crooks & Liars website was an echo chamber of similar views. The Powers That Be at C&L promptly removed that comment. The following day, I received no responses to, or up vote-down votes to any of my comments, even though I received so many responses the prior 6 weeks, I could hardly keep up. All I can figure is they blocked me so only I can see my comments. Censorship - and too cowardly to officially kick me off of the site. No wonder the followers of Crooks & Liars are narrow minded non-critical thinkers.
Twice I ran into this site and read an article I was interested in. I spent a great deal of time researching and tried to post a few polite and relevant comments. They were never posted. I noticed that among comments for these articles there was not a single dissenting viewpoint from the author of the piece. Out of 100's! Apart from that, 98% of the comments were merely "name-calling" or ad hominem attacks, almost nothing of any substance. My comments had a great deal of substance. Apparently, you need to be both vulgar and to see the world with blinders on in order to leave a comment.
I. Spent a couple of hours trying to get access and every time I got a message about ad blocker via Admiral. I removed ad block from my computer completely and still can't access. I made multiple attempts to resolve with no success. Finally I just unsubscribed. After unsubscribing a got an email from "pissed customer" asking me If I wanted legal help. No I'm done with them. Now I! Your ysee I get a message sayng "Great job! Your review looks really helpful! Ha! I'm out $71.00 but chance of re-subscribing is zero.
The single star is for the relatively clean layout. You could find the same content, with much less vile comments, at numerous other liberally-polarized sites.
Such hate and bigotry can only come from Liberals and one can find it here.
The headlines are sensationalist, and many articles are written under assumed names.
Butt hurt right wing nut jobs hate this site because it calls out their lies and bull$#*!.
They can't control the message so they freak out.
Crooks and Liars is nothing but lies spewed by Crooks.
