I had been a customer for a number of years and used them largely successfully for minor plumbing issues nothing that would cause alarm - pressure issues etc, when it came to the radiator coming off the wall they claimed it was incorrectly installed (8 year prior to us moving into the house)... thanks... absolute waste of money. Why do I bother having insurance then...
Even though corgi home plan had been informed by their gas safe engineers, of potential problems with policy holders boilers they override the issue and continue to charge a fee of insurance, but don't advise the policy holder.
I was the twelfth engineer to call to an open vented boiler that was not installed correctly and the boiler was unable to 'vent' normally... life threatening
We need to get together and sort the trade out, I wish!
The plan I have auto renews 1st Feb 2023. I don't wish to renew. The plan states even if you cancel your Direct Debit the plan will continue and you will owe the monies due. I have spoken to four different staff who say they need to transfer me and cannot help. I have written one cancellation letter (9th Jan). I have emailed every day for last eleven days (got automated response – but not every time) and still no acknowledgement of my cancellation request. If this experience is not deliberate policy the dreadful admin is enough to warn customer away.
Appalling Service. Engineer attended on first day, Found fault. He sourced the part and price but Corgi wouldn't authorise the repair as it went above their price limit saying that Ideal Boilers would have to do it. I have just been informed that IDEAL will attend later in the week leaving us, 2 pensioners, with no hot water and no heating for 6 days. The temperature is forecast 5 degrees tonight and there is nobody to help us. This is not the kind of service I expected from Corgi
Do not even bother. An actual Corgi could do it better. Sent an engineer to fix a boiler the next day even though it should have been same-day. Engineer turned the boiler off and on again and said it's fixed. Worked for a few hrs and was broken the next morning. Said will send another engineer the day after (so day 5 of no hot water). Engineer came in, said it's a PCB and replaced it. Everything fine. 5 mins later engineer comes back saying they won't pay for the PCB and removed it. They said they'll have the manufacturer repair the boiler. So almost a week for something that should have been same day. All about maybe £20 or £30 difference in part cost.
Appalling service paid £15 a month has a problem with the boiler charged£60 call out and they couldn't fix the fault. Boiler serviced recently found a fault and never returned to fix it.Just cancelled the policy and advised a £60 cancellation fee. Be very wary of using this company.
Engineer called on a Thursday said he would need to order parts. Had call saying engineer would be visiting Tuesday.To be fair he turned up on time but said he knew of nothing about part so stated lookjng for leak.After a while said boiler was beyond economic repair...this is after the other chap had said a simple 2 hour job to fix.since then NOTHING...do not answer ohone after 1 hour and 25 minutes on hold...left 2 75 year olds without heating or hot water during the coldest snap in years.Also Corgi have been servicing boiler for years and after last service we were told no issues.should be OK for years yet...Then few months later after Summer when boiler used very lightly told its a right off...After yearscof paying annual service contract feel very let down...
Corgi another good old name soiled. Basically do not us they come out with ever excuse in the book to say your policy does not cover breakdown.DO NOT USE just not worth it. COWBOYS!
We are now on the 8th day with no heating or hot water. 13 calls to Corgi and serval to the actual engineer (who very rarely answers) still no further on. No part ordered 2 engineer visits to "look" at our boiler.
No one from corgi rings to update you. My guess is because there's nothing to update on as they haven't done anything.
3 children in the property 1 that suffers from seasonal bronchitis and has been hospitalised serval times over the years.
My husband has telephoned corgi once again this morning and we are still no further on than we were 8 days ago. No part ordered no update….nothing!
We have booked a weekend away because we can no longer stand having no heating and hot water. We have had to travel to my mums small bungalow throughout the week for showers and to warm up. This has obviously inconvenienced my mum who is 77 years old.
Wouldn't recommend corgi to anyone, customer service is a joke. Engineers are a joke and overall service is terrible. We have checked the ombudsman website and will be following direction from them on how to pursue this.
I have had faeces next to the back door and in the garden for the past 2 weeks after paying the cover to Corgi for the past 10yrs. I have had a technician visiting, clearing the blockage and he damaged the pipe -now I have a faeces-filled garden. I am a disabled person and have been trying to call them at least once a day. I have been told to get someone else to do the job and they have not clarified who will pay for the cost. They keep transferring me back to different teams and departments. Since last week some one called Lawrie has been dealing with this and I was told he will call me back. I have been waiting for this call back for the past week and have had no response. Corgi have been blaming others and having had 2 or 3 different companies visiting saying Corgi is responsible and should do the work. I have complained to Environmental Health as this is health hazard not just for me but the whole community. I am unable to open the door or use the garden. It is literally human waste in the garden, having rats, bugs and what not. I am unable to go to Financial ombudsman as I have to wait 8 weeks from my initial complaint. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. PLEASE DO NOT LOOK AT THE PHOTOS AS THEY MIGHT MAKE YOU SICK.
