Best Magazine
November 30, 2023

Best Magazine for getting info on various products, the good, the bad and the ugly. I've purchased Consumer Reports for over 20 yrs.

I am a verified purchaser, but at this moment, can't find my receipt.

ConsumerReports gives you great consumer-based rankings of products in various categories. They also give you a comparison of prices of that item at different retailers so that you can find the best deal possible. I just got an air conditioner for $40 less than I was about to pay when I checked their listings!

No. This article on their website would suggest that these things don't work that is an outright lie. I've had 1 for 4 years a Delonghi made in Italy it works fantastic. About a $350 purchase all you have to do is venit to your window 6" attachment that they give you with the air condition. Consumer reports used to not be politically based but I guess now they are

I use consumer reports all the time for major purchases. Not all the information is available for free. The site does have a pay to use setup that can be frustrating for a non member. Just when you think you find what you are looking for you click a link and that area is a pay area. There is still a lot of good information for free though!

I got tired of spending my hard earned money on products and not getting as advertised. Now I do my research in Consumer Reports so that know what Im truly buying and not falling for false claims on the products I purchase.

CR clearly takes bribes
December 28, 2022

Years ago, when I was a subscriber, I read that CR deemed Toyota was one of the worst brands when they allowed 2,200+ Americans to die driving their unsafe vehicles. Months later CR decided Toyota was the best car manufacturer. Mayor RED FLAGS here. Did they really think Americans would allow this to happen and just look the other way? Clearly Toyota paid big bucks to CR to change their reviews and save their butts. I cancelled my prescription immediately.

When accessing specific items you will find that there is a membership fee. There are free articles that are available. I did find consumersearch.com which is free and by The New York Times... just as good. Only the tecnology review was 11 months, eventhough the suggested is #1 and information was reliable, usefull, and FREE!
